Wondering if anyone can help? Need some advice. When is the best time to go to Disneyworld? We want the quieter period but also want the pools and waterparks to be warm enough. Also the big question of where to stay? Which resort for a family of 5? Ages 6, 11 and 13 years. We know we want to stay on-site to get the full Disney effect but not many places take a family of 5 in one room. Also would love to eat a quick breakfast and snacks in room. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks :goodvibes
Oh, does anyone recommend buying points from dvc members. Briefly went over that but am concerned of the risk involved.

I am also planning a 2008 trip. Probably May 17-24. I have heard May is a good time, low crowds until the end of the month (I know, I am cutting it close). I have also read the September is good, although you have the treat of a hurricane and it is supposedly hot. We went is July and roasted. That is why we are choosing May this time.

We are also a family of 5 (me, dh, ds 3 and 7, and my mom). I have started researching resort choices and keep going back to Port Orleans Riverside, as it is a moderate that accomidates 5 because there is a small trudle bed that will hold a small child (under 9). I am worried about only having one bathroom. I have also been looking into the DVC rentals, but am too afraid that I would be the one in a million that gets burned.

We like to eat breakfast in our room also and all moderated as delux's have a fridge for no charge. Value resorts charge you $10 per night for them. Another option for you would be the the family suites as all star movies. These look great and there are good pictures on the resort board. I have also thought about 2 rooms at a value, probably All Star Sports ( mainly because of theming for my two sports loving sons and ds).

We really wanted to stay at the Wilderness Lodge this trip (stayed at the Animal kingdon lodge in 2006) but a standard room does not allow 5 and I cannot afford a delux room. There are several deluxed that accomidate 5 if you are willing to part with the money.

Good luck planning! Sorry if you think I rambled, just tried to get it all in. Hope I helped and feel free to ask away!:)

:) :) Hi there
Thanks for the info. I keep looking at the POR also from all the good reviews, the cost, and the ability to fit 5 option. My kids want the AKL or Poly but big bucks there. We may split and try a few nights at a deluxe for a treat? I will still look into the dvc renting but am not too sure about that.
Thanks for the tips. I hadn't thought of May. We were looking at November but not sure. May would be better for the pools and water parks probably. Anyways, thanks again:goodvibes

Oh one more thing!
Does anyone know which resort has the most comfortable beds? I know it can vary between rooms but there must be a general consensus. It may sound a bit picky but my DH had back surgery 12 years ago and his back is in good shape but he still likes a good mattress to sleep on (me too!)
Any opinions on this one?:)
