Planning on DVC resale purchase

I've been getting The Timeshare Store email with the heading....43 days left.

What does that mean?

Also, I just saw a thread mentioning if you buy a resale contract after Mar. 20th 2011 that you won't be able to get into the disney collection. Isn't the disney collection like, the poly, carribean beach, cabins and so forth?

Wow, I had no idea that they are doing this, wonder why?

You are correct. DVC resales will have restrictions as to how you can use the points. In addition to your list the cruise will be excluded from using points if you purchase resale after this date.

resale points will be available at the DVC resorts.

Isn't a DVC contract always a DVC contract. That seems unfair.

Wonder if it's because they want to control the market or if the new computer system isn't compatible?

They can do it because access to those ancillary items are "perks", and not part of your actual contract. In reality, the only thing your contract guarantees you is the right to book at the resort your buying into.

We at The Timeshare Store, Inc.® just want those on our mailing list know that the days are counting down to purchase your DVC resale property before Disney's new rules for resale purchases go into effect. We will continue the countdown until March 21st.

You still have plenty of time to purchase. Remember, your agreement to purchase resale points only has to be submitted to DVC for their Right of First Refusal before March 21st. The property does not have to close by that date.
