I'm going to Disney in 11 days & I've been trying to strategcally draw up an organised plan for what seems like forever. Have become very confused about conflicting opinions and advice about the best times to visit parks taking into account EE and 'busy days'. We want to ensure that we get to see all the parades, fireworks etc from the best locations & getting PS if required.
We (myself, mother & 10yr old daughter) have hired a car and are staying On I Drive. We have 10 day world passes and would also like to visit Sea World and Universal.
Could an experienced orlando holiday planner please assist me in drawing up a plan........please!!!
(shopping is considered to be a 'must' also) !!!:Pinkbounc

Janine, the more experienced are bound to help you but as far as our 'plan' goes I'm planning days off from parks to have a change of pace, relax, go shopping and see some different 'attractions'.

SimonV's updated posts will tell you the EE days so you can avoid those and using that in conjunction with the quiet days info should help.

I'd say you have to decided what you really want to do and what you might be willing to miss this trip and then plan accordingly.

Allow for the fact it may be hotter than here (please!) and that it can be tiring and a bit 'sensory' overload to be at theme parks day after day. If you have passes you could plan a day which is relax by the pool am, shopping in the afternoon and head for a park and any special event in the evening with maybe with a PS thrown in for dinner.

Good luck.

Personally the bags are packed and I can't wait to get to Gatwick :)

Although a plan can be helpful we find that being too regimented about our time in Orlando can lead to us feeling "under pressure" to stick to the timetable. Opinions vary about the value of a holiday plan, of course, but we like the freedom to follow our instincts on the day.

What I do before the holiday is to draw up a chart showing the opening times of all the parks, fireworks, parades, EE days, etc. Then we'll add any "fixed events" we have like dinner reservations or tickets like Discovery Cove. After that we leave all the decision making about what to do until we actually get to Orlando. The chart is useful while we are there because it gives us all the info we need to decide where and when to visit, but we don't feel like we are being dragooned into doing something just because we're following The Plan.

When we visited last year we had a timetabled plan and a "must do" list. We found after day 1 we abandoned the plan but found the list very useful.

Just made postcard size Must Dos for each park, followed the brits guide (see update ) for the busist times.

But don't worry, you have enough scope in your tickets, to return over your hoilday to most parks, just in case you miss anything.

Relax and enjoy

regards

R.
