Okay, so I am taking my wife to Disneyland May 13-17. We get in at 11 at night on the 13th and going straight to bed to rest. We have Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday in the parks. On one of those days we are going to Universal on grayline tours. I would prefer it not to be the last day as we like to finish it with Disney. I believe the Universal bus gets back around 7-9 PM. We did this shuttle on a weekday last year, and the rush hour traffic took awhile to get through. So here's where I need help.

Should I do the studios tour on Sat, Sun, or Monday?

We want to get in fantasmic and world of color.

I also want to take crowds into consideration as I want to go commando as much as we can.

I feel if we do Universal on Monday, it will be really dead and we will knock everything out, but get back late because of people commuting, and I'm missing a chance at a less crowded WOC (if I chose to do universal on a weekday).

I feel if we did Universal on a weekend, there would be no traffic on the way home, and we get back to the hotel at 8 PM and still have time in the parks because they are open till 12 a.m which is a plus. The only downside is that there may be alot of the people there and we can't knock it out in one day. An in addition, it would give me two less crowded days at Disneyland because we'll have an additional weekday.

Please help. Let me know if y'all have any confusion.

I would do USH on a Monday. We try to do USH every year and have learn not to do it on a weekend. I find traffic in LA always busy(I used to live there) but we are old movie fanatics and love thier tour.

Please tell us more about USH. We are considering this for our May trip, and we are big movie buffs, too. Does one ticket include the tour and shows and rides? Is that the way to go?

If we take the train to LA from Orange County, what transportation would get us to USH?

Not meaning to highjack this thread, should I start another one?

Where will you be staying?

What time zone will you be coming from?

If staying on site, i definitely agree with Jack that Monday would be best. So you can enjoy MM on Sat. Sunday & Tuesday.

One ticket gets you everything including the tram tour. FoLP will get you going thru the lines quicker oppossed to the general admission tickets. We have been fortunate to do the VIP tour the last few years and this get you into everything, Wisteria Lane, production studios, Greys Anatomy set, Conan when he was there, and a fantastic lunch. After that we would hit the shopping district or at least the wife and kids would. It is not Disney but it does not have to be. Have fun.
