Planning Help- First EVER Disney trip!

Hey all-

I am a major reader/stalker of this board.. I read read read.. LOL!

But I could use a little help, on deciding how to tackle our days in the parks, any and all input would be so much appreciated!!

Our Details:

Two adults, DD-6 & DS 1. We are visiting July 21-25.

None of us have ever been to Disney, Land or World.

We have 5 day park hopper passes, but really only 4 1/2 days to spend in the park.

We have M&F Character dining scheduled for our first full day in the park morning at 8:10 (DL is not on MM that day).

Am I missing any details?! Can anyone help us decide what to plan on riding, doing, seeing?!

OH, and forgot to say, the only thing I am REALLY sure I want my DD to do, is the Princess thing, at The Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. Where is that located? Does anyone know how long it takes? Better to do in AM or later in the day?

I also got a ton of good information from the Unoffical Guide to Disneyland which is a paper backed book (May be available for ereaders too). It gave great information on the attractions and age ranges for children and had a fear factor rating.

When my kids were young, we made sure we did one land a day, and when we were done we could backtrack and do the favorites. In each land we tried to see and do everything...some things have never been done again (canoes...they hated these). Get a good book that tells you all there is to do in each land and make lists to make sure you don't miss anything. Some things we did not even know were there and they were really cool. Have a great trip, take your time and don't feel like all you need to do is ride rides, there is so much more to do.

My kids are now 18, 14, and 10 and all of them, as well as my DH, have refused to go on the canoes since the 1 time we did it when DD was 10 and DS 6. The now 10 year old won't even try it based on how much his brother and sister say they hated it.

All of them say they don't want to work hard at their happy place. So, definitely skip this until kids are much older if you ever want to try it.

At 6, my DD only cared about princesses, Minnie, and pooh. She loved the parades and shows. Definitely see The Magical Map show, it has Pocahontas, Mulan, and Rapunzel singing their songs. Plus it's a nice shady place to rest

If your kids like animals, don't forget to stop by the petting zoo in Big Thunder Ranch. It is the cleanest petting zoo in the world!

Turtle Talk with Crush will also be a big hit, even for the little guy.

Thank you SO much, that is just the type of info I am looking for. I sadly sad2 haven't heard of either of these 3 things, but will now put them on our To-Do list for sure!

If they you want to meet Frozen characters then get there EARLY! I just came back from Disney Land and at 10 am the wait was already 310 minutes long.
