Hello,
Found this site through PopUp Explorer.
Just bought a new Pup, have a 4 year old son and are planning our first trip to WDW and are going to camp at the Fort.
I camped there once about 35 years ago and I'm guessing it has changed.
Let me start with I have a 12' Bayside Pop Up (large size trailer) with a slide (street side) and awning (curb side) that I would like to put up. Don't need full hook up. Just water and electric and would like to have some shade.
We will be traveling with friends and they have a 30' motor home and will want full hook ups (add sewer).
We would like to be together if possible but I don't want to be camping in an RV parking lot if possible.
Seems it would be nice to be by the marina area.
Can anyone recommend loop's/sites that can accommodate our needs?
We plan to be there in Feb. of 2009. How is this time of year?
Staying Sun. thru Fri.

If you want to be next to them then you're going to have to be in a loop that has moho's. The only advice I can give is if you stay in 1500 which is a tent/pop up loop and they stay in 1600 as some of those sites somewhat back up to each other. That said, it's going to be difficult to guarantee you would be that close. I see pop up's all the time right next to big campers. It's not a big deal.

Like the previous poster stated tents and popups and mixed with larger Rv's thruout FW. It might be an advantage for you as it will quieter at night for you with less noise. Our last trip we had a tenter next to us and have a 5th wheel. Just tell reservations you want to be together and you will enjoy wherever. We first went to FW at the same time as you (35 years) with a popup and they were the norm back then.

It's not that I mind being next to a big rig, I just don't want to be in an area that is basically a parking lot. I would prefer a wooded area plus it would save a few bucks not having sewer which I won't use.

Another advantage to having your PUP in with the MH's and larger TT's is having the comfort stations pretty much to yourself most of the time. I find they usually like to use their own bathrooms and showers which leaves the CS's less crowded.

Our first and only trip to the fort we were put in the 100 loop between a huge MH and a huge triple axle 5th. wheel. We were camping in a Coleman Westlake with the bath/shower combo. We really enjoyed our loop with the premium site amenities. Our next trip we are asking for a full hookup since we didn't really find the cable tv needed. It was nice to have the sewer hookup and be able to take a long hot showerr in the popup. We found our popup and the very nice site to be completely comfortable and a great way to balance the cost of food at the parks with good cooked meals at the campsite.

Our next trip in january 09 we plan on staying in a full hookup in a hybrid TT after moving out of the popup and look forward to some good meals at the campsite.

Jim
