Planning F&W lunch

During one of our Epcot days, we thought it would be fun to have a long strolling lunch at the F&W kiosks.

I was wondering how many "appetizer" sized sampling (whatever that means) would equal a lunch for pretty good eaters?

Since we will be going during FD I am trying to plan out our snack credits (hopefully they will still be on the DDP as snack credits). Would 3 per person be enough?

Hi Dave - I'd like to know this answer, too! We plan to use lots of our free snack credits to partake at the F&W Fest.

P.S. Looks like we're checking in on the same day!

For "pretty good" eaters as you said, I don't think 3 would cut it at most of the booths - but some of them have heartier fare than others. I would plan on more like 4-5 of the plates to equal lunch.

We had a great time eating and drinking our way around the world during F&W, but we did spend a lot! (we paid cash, not DDP credits). Have fun!

(PS - no RideMax plan available for F&W booths, I don't think!):rotfl:

Last year DH and I ( very good eaters) went from kiosk to kiosk ordering "snacks" we shared a bite of everything and we also enjoyed the adult beverages. We went to every kiosk with the exception of maybe 1 or 2. it took us 2 afternoons, all of our snack credits and an additional 100 dollars. It was a lot of fun and we can't wait to do it again!

Oh how we enjoying "noshing around the world" Keep in mind, some days there are really long lines - if that's the case - then you will find really short lines in the CS places - (China, Japan, etc)

dont laugh, but I went to photobucket to see what pics I'd uploaded...

Wish I knew why photobucket only shows the thumbnails when I c/p the image here? I cant for the life of me figure out what this is! But do you see the background?? roflol!! I remember taking the photo, I remember sharing the food with dh!! But, I have no idea what it is! The picture is too small! - and I cant figure out how to make them bigger!!

is it the same? DIfferent?? I think this is around Norway - the beer is giving it away - I dont think it was Spain??? I'm so ashamed!

Going out on a limb - I can tell there are potstickers, so this reminds me that dh got a call from work whilst I noshed!! I'd say the skewer may hold teryiaki chicken?

This was from the Irish booth - I think!! I did take notes.... however, I cannot find my notes! But you can see that it is a really nice portion!!

suhsi from the Japan stand - always an outstanding choice - and the plum wine is one of the bargain wines - sweet, similiar and different to ice wine -

There are some fabulous Food and Wine review trip reports with fantastic photos -

and as time gets near - there are some AWESOME Dis'ers that share so much - One Dis'er made cards - and so I read all the reports, saw all the photos, compared with the notecards - and then when we went, I knew what we really wanted, what we'd like to try - and as it was in order by going clockwise - well, it was easy to "nosh" around the world!!

Thanks, those look good and pretty decent sized.

We won't be doing much of the wine, or beer portion so that will help keep the cost down to just snack credits.

Will they release what food choices there will be before the F&W opens? We are going to do this on a Monday rather then over the weekend. So hopefully the lines won't be as long. It would fit our plan better to do this on Saturday, but since it is the first weekend of F&W I am guessing that it will be extra busy and not as enjoyable.

DH, D Adult S and I have done F & W many times now. We take one day to just "Nosh Around the World" That day we do one CS and no TS. The snacks are our dinner (or lunch). I do not think that 3 samples will be enough food for a lunch. I agree with PP that I would say at least 4 -5. Most are relatively small samples - 2 or 3 bites. We have used are snack credits and still spent a fair amount more. We do do the festival several different days though.
I definitely would not go over the first weekend. It will definitely be more crowded. The festival is very popular with locals and AP holders, who come in droves on the weekends. Week days are much easier to enjoy.
Have a great trip

It will depend on which food items you choose - some are larger than others and some are lighter than others.

To minimize lines and waiting, don't go on a Saturday or Sunday. Maybe include Friday night. That's when the locals go.

If you are hearty eaters, as am I, two or three samplings won't cut it. We have been to F&WF the last two years, and probably spent about $80-$90 (not including beverage) snacking during the day (always skipped lunch to do this.) Case in point: last year at Australia (or New Zealand) they had little, tiny lamb chops; they were delicious and about one bite of meat on the one lamb chop that came on the plate for about $5.00. Below is a link for last year's prices:
