Planning Escpae Wed. At SBP Questions!!

Hi everyone! So I am new to the boards but since my fiance and I just got engaged on MONDAY (!!) it's time to start planning. And we already know we want SBP for June 2011...but can anyone fill me in on their weddings there? Any tips or "I wish we would've..." Also..

1) How much of a discount do you get on the room?
2) Did you get your hair/make up done before, and if so, where?
3) Any/all pics would be great! And I'll be starting a PJ soon!

Hair and makeup I had done by Beaute Speciale. They were amazing and came directly to my hotel room at Port Orleans.

Discount on rooms...Its not much and I know that all of our guests got a better deal booking without the room block that you can set up.

thank you for the info! I see you're from Boston...I live in the north shore! We're planning on driving next June 2011...Did you have to wait 8 months from the date you wanted to reserve/call Disney?

Welcome and congrats on the engagement!

I was married at SBP on 1/17/10, and it really is a beautiful venue. I STILL haven't done my TR yet, but there are some pictures in my PJ and vendor reviews. There is a link to that in my signature.

I'd also suggest purchasing the Passporter's book for disney weddings. It will answer questions you don't even know you have!

My hair and makeup the day of the wedding was done by patricia Lejune, and the next day for our bridal portraits I used beauty especial because Patricia wasn't available. Both came to my room and were ontime,friendly and professional.

I was engaged in Sept and we decided to do a disney wedding in October so we were able to call and book our wedding as soon as we decided..I didn't have to do the dreaded wait (that would have killed me). My suggestion for doing a June wedding is..do the 10am ceremony. We did this and luckily there was not much humidity and the rain storms usually come in the afternoon so you miss those too!!

Thanks for the advice Boston Disney Bride. We're living in Danvers alto "originally" we are from northern NH and moved here a year ago. We are now maybe thinking about May 2011 to reduce risk of hurricane-interruptions, and maybe a little cooler? My mom and I usually take our annual trip from May 5th-May 10th so I have a good idea of the weather, but my DF hasn't been since he was 13 (he'll be 25 in Sept).
Unfortunately, we do have some bad news Just yesterday, we were camping out with DF's family (parents, brother & fiance) and announced to them we are planning at wedding at SBP- DF's mother replied, "then you better plan on getting married alone" which turned into a big argument. But we are still determined to do what WE want because it is OUR day. Also, MOH stated "i dont really LIKE disney" but she said she is willing to stay one night for the wedding.
Anywho, basically I feel like we are at a stand still. We cannot called them until probably Sept. and see what is available for May, but in the mean time we are going to start saving!

Thanks!! I deleted most of the pictures, but the Trip Report still has pics and I have to get on finishing that!! Don't worry about family..they all usually come around. Just remember that it is YOUR day and do not do something for someone else because you'll always regret it!

Ok another question...are you allowed to purchase the DDP with the annual pass that you get with the escape wedding package? Do you just tell them how manys you want?
