Hello :wave2:

My husband, has to be at the Dolphin for a conference next week, and I don't know if I bumped my head or what, but I thought I was going to resist from joining him :rotfl2: yeah temporary insanity! So, of course at the last minute (a couple weeks ago) we decided that me, DS 6 and DS 3 would drive down, and meet him there.

I have been trying to work out a plan, but suddenly feel overwhelmed. I am trying to figure out what days to go to what park, what to pick for FP+ etc. We are going to be there from May 6-12, and my husband will be pretty tied up with the conference until the 9th (he might be able to join us some evening though). So, far what I know for sure is the 6th since we will be arriving in the late afternoon, I thought we would go to DTD, get our tickets, memory maker, and Disney Visa cash etc. I also have 'Ohana reservations for 7:45 that night, but I am unsure about that, because of the long drive, and busy next day. On the 7th I plan on taking them to MK, as I somehow secured a Anna and Elsa Fast pass, and my DS 3 is a Frozen addict, I also somehow landed a BOG Dinner that night.

The rest of the trip is where I am unsure, DS 6 is tall enough for all the rides, and loves them all, but we will be unable to go on the height restricted ones without DH, as DS 3 is too short. Also, DH loves Universal, so tentatively we are planning on that for Friday the 9th, but that can be changed. Anyone have any suggestions for a good plan of attack? Any help will be much appreciated! :goodvibes

On our trip back in 2011 I scheduled a late ADR for the day of our arrival. Never ever again lol. I thought we'd get there late afternoon and have plenty of time. We wound up hitting major traffic that put us hours behind schedule. By the time we arrived and checked in we literally had to make a mad dash to make it to our reservation. Now we just check in and hang around the resort the first night, or go to DTD and grab a quick bite. I'm sure plenty of people will say it's doable, but after that experience and the new cancellation fee for dining, I'm not willing to take the risk anymore.

As far as the height thing...I took my then 2 and 7 year old daughters to the MK for one day last year by myself. The 7 year old was tall enough for everything and loves thrill rides. But obviously she couldn't ride by herself and I couldn't go with her and leave the 2 year old alone. We did everything else instead and the 7 year old didn't even flinch when we walked by the bigger rides. She still talks about how that was her favorite trip to MK ever. Congrats on A&E and BOG! Hope you have a great time!:)

So id start with buying a touring plans membership if you dont have one. So you can look which days are best for which parks.
Im taking my dd6 9-13 & here is our plan
day 1 mk (1-8pm) flying in in the morning
day 2 epcot (stay all day 9-5)
day 3 mk 8-3 rest then 8-12
day 4 ak 8-1 epcot 5-9ish
day 5 hs 8-12 then mk until we need to leave.
I have 1 adr each day. You will see lots of cancellations if you want adrs in next week Im sure. I made personalized plans using touring plans they even have fp suggestions.
For us ak/hs are half day parks. Good luck!

Remember...you don't have to do everything.
You don't have to have the perfect trip.
You don't have to eat in the "best" restaurants.
You can take things at a slower pace...spend more time in the animal graveyard and other type of playgrounds.

You can tell the 6 year old that since it is just you three this time, you all have to go on rides that everyone can do together. You will go another time and do the other rides when Daddy is with you.
