I received a voucher for $15 for Planet Hollywood when I booked my Disney trip through a TA. I haven't seen anything about this restaurant at all on the boards. What should I order here? I called to get ADR's and it was next to impossible to get a reasonable dinner hour (every day after 10:30 PM was open!) Suggestions on the food?

We really like Planet Hollywood, but have not been to the Downtown Disney location. It is the type of place in general that people love or hate, and from what I have read on these boards, the Downtown Disney location can be hit or miss. The wait for a table can be long there, too.

My family loves their appetizers and burgers, we find the dinners hit or miss :confused3 . It always seems to take a long time to eat there and we just relax and enjoy the atmosphere. It is loud, but there so much to see.

I suggest that if you have never been to one, and are not in a hurry, give it a try. :)

We had no trouble getting 5pm ressies this April ! Loved it 4 of us had the Rib eye steak which was great! For appies try the potato sskins and the 5 mini tortillas Yummy1 The key lime pie was delish too!!

A couple of months ago I had dinner at Planet Hollywood in DTD and had this:

(as copied from allears.net)
L.A. Lasagna - A California twist to a classic lasagna! Fresh pasta tubes filled with ricotta cheese and bolognese meat sauce fried to a golden brown and covered with garlic cream sauce and tomato basil sauce $16.95

It was OUTSTANDING! :thumbsup2 It was so good, even my friend who had ordered the same exact thing really liked it too! It was a huge portion, 2 people could easily share this. I took pictures of it but I don't have them on my web site yet. If you're interested in seeing what it looks like, I can post it.

My family ate here last Sept. The only thing I can tell you is to run, far far away!! It was all bad food and service was worse. If the meal was free I would not go back. Good luck if you give it a try. I only hope you get a good night!

I will second Seven Dwarfs response. We ate there during spring break this year just to use the $15.00 voucher we got. It was the worst service we have ever had. I will be going back to WDW in September and were never going back there. When I called to get an ADR there before we went in the spring they told me we did not need one because we would be seated right away and she was correct. There is a reason there giving you a $15.00 voucher for Planet Hollywood because they trying to get people in there. If you go make sure your server knows that you have a voucher and you might want to tell him or her 2 or 3 times as we had to do. Because when the bill came she still forgot to take the $15.00 off.

I agree with these two! Horrible restaurant!!! Kind of neat to visit for the memorabilia, but this place is a nightmare.

But wouldn't they take off the $15 after you submit payment? Maybe I'm taking what you said too literally. :confused3

Wow! We had a completely different experience last summer. I had read some mediocre reviews here so was not expecting much but it turned out to be one of our favorite meals from the trip. So much so that we are going back this year. Great food and appetizers with huge portions, good service and nice atmosphere. My wife had the Salmon and I had BBQ Ribs platter ( a full Rack) both were excellent.

WOW, mixed reviews. IF I can get a dinner time that is before 9 PM, we are going to give it a try (just because we have the voucher). Since the TA made all the other ADR's for me, I was a bit baffled by the long wait at 407-WDW-DINE and the quiz before even getting to a person "If you are .......... push one..........if you are ........... push two..........." YIKES! Is it always this way to make an ADR?

We went to Planet Hollywood last year during our August trip. Yes we found the service slow, but we wernt in a hurry. My DS15 liked it so much we are going back twice this August. Planet Hollywood only takes reservations till 5:45 then after 10:00. The rest of the time are left for walk ins. So you might have like, going around 6:00 and seeing what the wait will be.

I don't think they do that anymore because when we were there a couple of months ago, we had an ADR for 8pm. :)

We loved our meal at PH. We were there just last month in June. We did do a early dinner before heading off to Epcot for the evening. Maybe around 4:30. The server and food were great. No wait at all. :thumbsup2 We also had a nice meal at Rainforest Cafe DTD which sometimes receives bad reviews on the boards. :confused3 Both places we had awesome service.

I went last year. Note: don't go on the weekend! Crowd is horrendous on Sat night (night I went). Had to wait about an hour for a table. Food was good although steak was medium RARE instead of medium WELL. Didn't feel like sending it back due to a longer wait to get it... was noisy and crowded so I'm sure server misheard me... it happens. Service was good too. Am thinking of going back this year. Depending on my park schedule! :goodvibes

I have been here twice and both times the service has been poor. The food was just ok and the prices were a bit on the crazy side for what we were served.

Of course my honey found out that we were getting a $15 off coupon and said, "Let's go there!" :sad2: I guess we will save it for our departure day. I have finally talked her out of the kitchen sink, but I think I have her talked into Ghirdelli. :thumbsup2

So they take lunch ADR's right? Maggie

I find that too, yet every time we go up there, we're able to get a table. Very odd. I just think they take very few reservations around dinner time.

I agree with the other negative reviews. PH used to be our first night tradition. Then we went to Rainforest Cafe, and that was it. RFC has VERY friendly servers. It's a great, fun, exciting atmosphere. The food's good. PH's servers are downright rude. It's as if, they're diong you a favor by serving you. I hate that. The food isn't bad. Certainly nothing to write home about or go out of your way for. I see PH as a place to stop in and have a drink now.

I havn't been to PH since 2005 but DH loves the place and we've never had a bad meal there. The prices have gone up and the service maybe a bit slow but lifes to short to stress.:dance3:
