Just wondering if anyone would be willing to share their experiences (good or bad) about Planet Hollywood in DTD. We were thinking of trying to pick up an ADR there for our arrival night (assuming, of course, we can get one :goodvibes ), but don't see much posted about it.

We have multiple character meals booked for our trip, plus Sci-Fi, and thought this might be another place which would appeal to our soon-to-be 13-year-old.

Anything info is appreciated. :flower3:

I've eaten there a couple times...it isn't bad. The atmosphere is certainly very interesting, but unless you think you'd really enjoy the restaurant on those grounds I wouldn't recommend it. The food is pretty good, but there are many better places to eat at WDW.

Also...(and I didn't book those trips so I could be wrong) I don't think they take ADRs.

I really love the atmosphere there, and think the food is pretty decent....the only thing I don't like, is the music is so loud you really can't have any type of conversation.

Worst restaurant of our 10 day trip. It was way too loud, the tables are way too close together and the waiter was rude and careless. He dumped salsa and my son because he was trying to move too quickly and then he hardly even apologized. He was downright militant about the Dining Plan. He insisted that we order everything we were entitled to. Our 11 year old son was considered an adult but didn't like any of the appetizers. We said we'd skip it. It should be considered our loss since it was included in our plan. We just didn't want to waste food. Turns out the waiter wanted to pad the bill to get the maximum out of his 18% tip (this was 2 years ago when the tip was included). He was just a creep.

My son summed it up the best (he has Asperger's and tends to speak in very matter-of-fact terms). He said, "Mommy, when we were in there it was like we weren't even in Disneyworld anymore." Right on, son!

We'll never visit it again despite loving the burgers there (one of the best on our recent trip)....1st table we were shown to was for 4 people but the tables around it were so crammed in we couldn't move 2 of the chairs out and the hostess got stroppy when we asked for a table we could all actually sit at....music was soooo looud we couldn't hear each other at all so skipped appetisers and dessert and hot-tailed out of there once we paid the bill. Never again!!

well both times we have gone to disney we have eaten at Planet Hollywood! I don't seem to remember what we had which makes me think it wasn't THE best meal in the world. Having said that i don't recall it being poor quality either. The themeing is fun with all the movie memoribilia(sp?) and i think its a bit different! at the end of the day its a chain so the food is probably the same you find in one near to you but i would say its better then rainforest cafe (which is also a chain).

i think sometimes people have these enormous expectations which can cause a meal to be disappointing.

at the end of the day its a chain so the food is probably the same you find in one near to you.

Thanks for the honest reviews everyone. This is one chain that we DON'T have near to our home (we live in...ummmm....a rather rural part of Ontario......nothing to flashy or urban here :upsidedow ) so that's where the appeal comes from.

Will have to think on this and decide!!

We go to Planet Hollywood every trip. My son is 13 and loves it there - the two places he wants to eat every trip are Columbia Harbour House and Planet Hollywood. The first time we ate there I made an ADR, but we like to eat by 5pm to avoid the crowd so I have never bothered since, and we have never had to wait.:thumbsup2

We usually eat there once a trip for lunch but because we have a voucher from AAA. The food is good but the service isn't the best. It is fun but it isn't one of the best places to eat. Go and try it.

WE went on our past trip because of the AAA discount. The food was very good, but it was sooooo noisy and the service was slow. I had a headache and could not wait to get out of there by the time the meal was over.
