We are considering doing something crazy...

Going to WDW during the week between Xmas and New Years

When is the best time to try to book airfare during this time???

Thanks!

How much of a gambler are you? I don't know about last year, or what's in the future, but in prior years airlines have offered really good fares, VERY close to the holidays, for flying ON Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day.

Depends from where you are coming from. From the NE there are never any bargain fares. If you are planning on this year, all the cheaper seats have been gone for 4 months.
Domestic capacity is down and fares are up. If you are in bound on the 26/27 and return on 1/3/1/4 you may find a good rate. If you are planning on going home 12/31or 1/1 forget any discounts.

We purchased our tickets ($300) the first week they came out in February 2005, and we traveled 12/28 to 1/2/06. The flights coming home on 1/1/07 or 1/2/07 are going to be extremely high -- looking at the same flights this year the fares is about $650.

Yikes this does not look good at all :sad2:

Hmm maybe a quick weekend trip at the end of October for my birthday instead....

Sounds like it will be last minute planning if this goes through.

If you have Southwest in your area, they have have not released fares for the end of December yet.

I went during this time last year and good rates can be found. I booked a 119 each way on SW, then it dropped to like 89 about a month before. I still have the credit to use for this year. I am going again this year, 12/14 through 12/24 and will do the same thing as soon as the southwest rates come out.
