We are leaving THIS THURSDAY! we are first time parents, traveling with our 11.5 month old baby girl and i'm a little nervous. first of all, i always carry on luggage...do you think this is a totally bad idea since we will have the stroller and the baby? any pointers for packing minimally?? i have packed all our clothes and i feel as though i have too much for the baby as far as clothes. i had all our baby supplies shipped already. what would say 2 outfits, per day? Do you think a large duffle bag is too big to carry on? Any advice for keeping her entertained on the plane? our flight is @ 8 am! Any tips on dealing with that.? we have to be at the airport by 6:30. At least our flight is only 2.5 hours. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

2 outfits per day? Mhum...How many days will you be gone? I use pampers bibster that way I save some extra space for bibs when travelling. I simply buy a box at the walmart when I get there.

It's tough keeping a baby entertained at that age. Bring lots of snacks. Mum-mums are my 9 month old favorite.

Oh, don't bring any noisy toys on-board. You'll get evil eye stares from the other passengers :scared1:

Just got back from a trip with my 12 month old. He did great! Check with your airline on carry on sizes..all are different. I had someone in charge of carry ons that way I could focus on baby. I brought a couple new books and lots of snacks..My best tip would be to run him/her ragged in the terminal before take off...We walked and walked and while the plane was taxing down the runway, he was already asleep!:cool1:

You can still do carry-on luggage... and I would recommend you gate check the stroller (check with your air carrier).

Hopefully your baby is a good flier.. sometimes the noise of the engines puts them to sleep.. sometimes, not so much.

We flow with our DD for the 1st time when she was 6-8 months, and (luckily) she was fine with it.

For packing minimally, you may want to pick up things there (like diapers if you do disposable) and bibsters (as was previously mentioned) and things like that...
