Plane lands at 1:45. Dinner at Crystal Palace at 5:05. Will we make it?

As long at their plane lands on time or close to it, you should make it in time. I give myself 3 hours from the plane landing to bag check. Usually that is PLENTY of time. Have a great trip.

If the plane is exactly on time they might make it, but our last trip we were delayed taking off then had a major wait for ME. Some issue with the buses stuck in traffic and not getting back to the airport. So they started putting us on Mears vans to get to our resort. Ultimately we were 2+ hours later than I had anticipated.

Could you try and move your ADR a little later? Not sure when you are going but cancellations pop up all the time.

I would let them continue with current plans and you continue with yours. At 4:30 ask them " are you here"? If the response is no then respond tell them you are heading to dinner and will see them for desert back at the resort later. Spending your day 'monitoring' their every move will stress you out and you can't do anything about it.

Not knowing where they are will "stress you out" just as much, if not more.

And, I have done the "Meet us at the Dinglehooper at 4PM" without cell phones.

If the guests check-in on-line, they don't ever even have to check in at the front desk, period.

So, yes, they can go directly to the park and only go back to the resort after dinner, etc.

In y experience, If they rent a car from one of the many in-terminal options, they will be much faster than ME, and have more options. If they don't want to do that, they could also get a taxi very easily. (but would then have to go to hotel to drop luggage at bell services)

If their flight is on time and all, then they could probably get to CP by 5pm, but may end up missing if ME is very slow, or their flight is delayed. ME often makes multiple stops! The stops are very slow as guests get luggage.

We often don't book ADR's our first day because of the high risk of flight delays. I would also consider how well they know WDW. another small factor is the timing of the in airport shuttle.

If they get their own car, they could go directly to MK parking, and leave luggage in trunk. Then they will have a car all week = big plus.

One trip a family member got to MK 45minutes after landing using ME! Another trip 20min flight delay+ ME meant arriving at my hotel nearly 4 hours from scheduled landing time.

I-4 also gets traffic, but should be okay when they are commuting. We've seen it backed up at 3:30pm.

I would not spend all day on the phone stressing, but would have them contact you via text when they land and chart their progress.

You can have one person take ME and that would allow the luggage delivery service to be provided. Then the others can go and rent the car from the airport. The party can then meet up at the hotel lobby, check in, then head to the park.

If you are worried about time, the fastest possible solution might be for you to get the car and go back to the airport to pick them up. Just a thought. Make sure they call before their flight leaves to confirm they left on time then wait in the cell phone lot for their call when they land.
