Just booked a last minute trip. We are staying at the Caribbean Beach hotel and want to go to MK and AK. 3 kids ages 9(b), 5(g), 3(b) plus 2 adults. Just bought the basic ticket and will spend one day at each park. We also plan to go to Universal Studios and maybe a day at Blizzard Beach. Leaving TOMORROW!!!! So excited. Not much time to plan and I'm clueless anyway. Help?

see if there are any FP+ left and book some rides for each park. if you cant get any FP+ for the rides you want then be at the park for rope rope preferably MK. AK is easier in my opinion to get on the rides as it tends to be less crowded. rope drop will give you the best chance to get on a bunch of rides. if you do rope drop maybe think about going back to the resort for some rest and then come back for the night time festivities. since you are staying onsite also check to see if there is extend hours at the parks for the days you go that way you can get extra time at the park.

hope this helps some.

Thanks guys! Browsing on here it just seems like everyone plans their trip down to the minute and I guess I'm worried because I haven't planned at all! I'm sure we will have fun no matter what I just didn't know if we needed to have a plan of attack :)

The most important thing to remember is don't get overwhelmed. There's so much to do so decide if you want to do mostly rides, character meet and greets, mostly walk around and take in the sites and eat, all of which are great options. The problem might be in the ages and what they like, i'll list the rides and attractions for MK and break them into kid friendly and such so you can have an idea on what to definitely do or what to stay away from things may get too scary. Also fast passes are a must for certain rights to i'll put an "*" on ones you will need to fast pass if you really want to ride them.

Family Friendly: Jungle Cruise, Enchanted Tiki Room, Hall of Presidents, Peter Pan* (must do and a must fast pass), Enchanted Tales with Belle, Winnie The Poo, Little Mermaid, Small World, Mickey's Philharmagic, Tomorrowland Speedway, Buzz Lightyear, Carousel of Progress, Tomorrowland Transit Authority

In between: Pirates if the Caribbean (slight drop but nothing serious, highly recommended), Haunted Mansion (a little spooky but not scary my personal favorite ride), Seven Dwarfs Minecart * (a very small roller coaster), The Barnstormer (another small roller coaster)

Thrill Rides: Splash Mountain* (log flume ride with a 50 foot drop at the end), Thunder Mountain* (Medium roller coaster), Space Mountain* (roller coaster in the dark)

As for AK there isn't much to do in way of rides and everything is very spaced out so there will be a lot of walking in between attractions, the park will probably only take you 3-4 hours to complete so don't expect a full day like in MK. The Safari and DINOSAUR are things everyone can do but Expedition Everest is an intense roller coaster (by disney standards). Kali River Rapids is something that should be ok there's a slight drop and note that you will get soaked. Other than that there's a bunch of shows and movies like a Bug's Life and the Lion King that you can do along with a nature trail.

I hope this was helpful anything else you have questions with I will be more than happy to answer them.

Well holy cow that IS last minute, lol. Plan on being at the parks for rope drop. That will give you an edge on the heat and crowds. Plan on staying till 12 or 1 then go back to your resort to rest/get out of the heat. Then, go back for the evening. Try for FP+ tonight but you likely won't get much for the "big" rides - so focus on those at rope drop.

Thanks for the replies! I got FPs later in the day for Peter Pan, Ariel and Haunted Mansion. We plan to be there at opening and hope to ride Buzz, 7D & Space mountain before it gets too busy. Great idea about taking a midday break.

I hope AK is "worth" it. My kids like our local zoo so I'm hoping they like it too. I've personally only been to MK and DL so AK will be new to me too. Not sure if my 3 year old will be good for the shows but we will give it a shot.

i wouldn't fast pass haunted mansion you can walk on to that, i would defiantly fast pass space mountain that usually has an 80+ minute wait

Yes, I second getting FP for Space Mtn and 7 Dwarfs. They need FP much more than Haunted Mansion. Plus after you use the three FP you can usually get a FP for HM later.
