Our twins will be off of formula in April for our trip. My concern is keeping milk cold or is it easy to purchase in the parks at each feeding? Also, I am scared that the milk will taste different and they won't drink it (you know how different brand names taste a little different).

Any tips would be great please!!!

You can buy milk at all the CS rest. I guess I'm a mean Mom but they will be eating food by then so if they don't like it tuff or buy Apple Juice- probably better in the heat anyway.

One of my four year old twins will only drink milk. I did not have a problem buying it at any counter service. He is very picky and does not like any thing "different". He actually liked the milk in the hotel because it had a picture of Mickey Mouse on it. I don't remember if the milk in the parks did also, but he drank it without complaining once. I wouldn't take the chance of trying to keep it cold.

So glad to hear milk is very available in the parks!! I sure didn't want to try to keep our own cold either. It will be nice not having to worry about packing around the milk (I'm so used to always having formula, etc. for the last 11 months!!;) ) I'm going to feel like a lightweight:rotfl:

Try some of the Pediasure that comes in the little bottles with blue caps. They do not need refridgerated as long as they are not opened and will keep for 2-4 hours after you do depending on the temp around them. A day or so in the fridge. We used them last trip with our then 2 1/2 y.o. It was great, no running to the stands at a moments notice.

They are pricey (around 10$ for a 6 pack) but a 14 month old should only drink about 1/2 at a sitting so they kiddos can share one and save some money. They are meant to be suppliments to a child who may not be getting enuf nutrition for the day but are good as a quick drink for variety over the juice boxes.
WARNING--dont give them one right B4 you plan on eating, they are very filling and dont be surprised if the munchkin isnt hungry.
Avoid the chocolate(tho it is REALLY REALLY GOOD) stains, as does the Strawberry(which is also really good). LOL--I had to taste test them..lol I(I mean my DD) likes the vanilla and banana but the orange cream is to die for.

Oh..I think just the vanilla comes in a calcium enriched variety

Hi there! Another thing we have always done with our toddlers was to pack the milk that comes in boxes, like a juice box. I think Parmalat makes them and we can get a three pack in the grocery store. Nice and easy, we would just open it up and squeeze it into a sippy cup or a bottle. We used it in the room and at the parks. We even used it this past summer with our 13 month old, and kept it right in our diaper bag and just opened as we needed. Not expensive either. In fact, I keep the large size box of Parmalat milk in my pantry in case I ever run out of milk, or can't get to the store b/c of a sick baby or snow. Just a thought!
Have fun at Disney!

On our 2000 trip DS was 12mos. and we pretty much gave him milk at meals and that was it. I never took it around the parks with me. He drank it mostly at table service restaurants, I can't recall if I ever ordered it at CS places (although I'm sure I did at least once). The rest of the time he had water and some juice. He probably didn't get as much milk as he should have that trip, but it was only for a week so I know it didn't hurt him that much.

Or maybe it did - every once and awhile I"m still placed in the Worst Mom's Ever group!! :) Kids - gotta love 'em!

Our kids (DS – 3 and DD – 1) only drink whole milk. In the health conscious world we live in it isn’t easy to find whole milk in a lot of restaurants. Thankfully for us though we WDW sold whole milk, as well as skim, at CS and Food court places we ate at.

How about chocolate milk?? we are HUGEEE and I do mean HUGGEEEE chocolate milk drinkers. The little one still gets white... but good lord between the 2 girls I go thru ALOT of chocolate milk a day...

I don't remember exact ages, but DS has been to WDW 4x since 8.5 mos and he is now still only 23 mos. We had no problems with milk whatsoever. I felt the urge to respond to this post because almost everywhere else you go (i.e. local restaurants, etc., you only get 2% or 1% milk). WDW was the only place we could get DS whole milk on a regular basis. DS loves milk and has no problems with any kind of different taste there or anywhere. I think it's fresh and should hopefully be no problem for your DC.

I haven't read the replies, so I may be repeating...

We just buy milk in the parks as we need it. I don't want to take a huge chance of it going bad. However, when we go other places were milk isn't available, what we do is put milk in those sippy cups that you can throw in the freezer. We then either use a sippy cup koozie or wrap it in foil to help keep it even cooler and store it out of sunlight. It really does help.

These are great ideas:thumbsup2 Thanks so much! I may look into the boxed milk...I never even paid attention to those in the grocery having to be cold or not.

I like reading everyone's experiences...keep them coming! I have learned so much from the DIS.:surfweb:

They don't have to be kept cold, AND they come in flavors! I've seen chocolate, strawberry and vanilla in addition to the plain. They also come in whole or lowfat varieties. They are with the canned milk in the grocery store, rather than the cold milk.

We use box milk any time we'll be someplace that it may not be available, especially the parks.

Although I must add, my DD4 had chocolate milk at Panera Bread a week ago and I didn't know when I ordered it that it would be ORGANIC! (It came in a cute little juice box type of container). I thought for sure she'd let me have it about how bad it tasted and refusing to drink it. To my surprise she loved it and told me it was good!!

I don't know if I'm reading your post right, but did you think that organic milk would taste bad? I think that organic milk tastes like real milk. The milk that I grew up drinking was so much richer (even skim and lowfat) and fresh tasting than the regular milk that you buy now.
