DH and I just decided to surprise our kids (DD8 and DS6) with a quick trip 12/12-12/15. We land at MCO at 8:05am on Saturday and fly out at 7:45pm on Tuesday. Staying at All Star Sports. Here's my plan....please critique!

Sat- Head to MK after getting to resort and grabbing something to eat in food court (I'm thinking even though it's a high crowd day, this is where the kids will be excited to go to first)
Eat late lunch/early dinner at MK or Epcot
Head to Epcot to walk around the countries and watch Illuminations (not sure if we should go right from MK to EP or if we should head back to resort for a break somewhere in there. Am I being to ambitious on arrival day?)

Sun- sleep in and eat at food court. Possibly head to DTD and go to WOD and the Lego Store. Check out the monorail resort decorations and then head to MK around 4 for MVMCP. We'll probably eat lunch around 2 or so at one of the resorts we check out. About how much time do we need to see the resorts?

Mon- Eat breakfast at food court. Head to EP and do Future World and that area. Grab lunch at a QS somewhere in Epcot.
Head to Hollywood Studios late afternoon. Have 7:20 ADR at Minnie's H&V dinner. I'm guessing we should do Osborne lights before? Is it possible to do them after?

Tues- Head over to MK four a few hours to close out our trip.

Please give any and all suggestions! Am I trying to squeeze too much in? We've only ever gone in August when it's hot, so we need breaks in the late afternoon to get out of the heat and refresh. Thanks for your help!

Your arrival day is pretty packed, considering you'll be getting up REALLY early to make that flight. You may need to adjust this if you're going to make it through Illuminations. I would keep your plan as is with the thought of taking an afternoon nap in the back of my mind.

Unless DTD is a must, I would be tempted to stay at the resort and just do the resort hopping for the afternoon on Sunday. You'll want to be at MK at 4:00, and you'll want a couple hours just to see the MK area resorts. I guess this will depend on how late you sleep in.

Osborne lights will be on until around 9:00. Definitely see them before dinner just in case dinner runs long, but I would ask if they are still on after dinner and take another stroll through if they are. Crowds will be mostly gone by then, and you can probably get some pretty good pictures.

You will be pleasantly surprised at how you do NOT need those afternoon breaks. The weather in December is awesome (although it can be cold, so be prepared), and the lower crowds just help to keep from zapping your energy like summer does.

Thanks for your thoughts! I thought the same thing about our first day being too much considering our flight time. I'm thinking we can take a break in the afternoon and check into our room since it won't be ready when we arrive.

I was hesitant about DTD, too. My son loves the lego store so I was trying to work it in, but I think we can just see how it goes and see if we have time for it. I don't want to be rushed through the resorts.

Thanks again for your input!!
