Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

This Thread can be used for any questions regarding Lightning Lane Muti Pass and Single Pass!

Was trying to find a thread strictly about LL questions but couldn't find one.

Some questions I have is regarding park hopping.
One day of our trip we will start in Animal Kingdom and hop to Magic Kingdom. We have MYW tickets so reservation is required.
  • Since my reservation will be for Animal Kingdom can I buy the LLMP for Magic Kingdom for that day?
You would need to change your park reservation to MK if you wish to purchase LLMP for MK then swap reservation back to AK after purchasing.
  • Other thought/question... Animal Kingdom LLMP is about $12 cheaper. Can I pick a "burner" for as early as possible at Animal Kingdom then Modify 3 LLs for Magic Kingdom? Do they require you to pay the difference or does the difference cancel out with not being able to make the preselection's for Magic Kingdom?
You will need to initially book all 3 LL's for AK and tap into your first one there before you can modify the remaining 2 and 1 new one to MK. If you purchase for AK then don't use and only book in MK you will be charged the MK price for LLMP.
  • If my reservation is for Animal Kingdom, will I be able to book a single pass for Mine Train or Tron?
Yes.

(This thread is already contains a lot of information both in the body and in post 1. A summary thread is in the works, just not complete yet. Until then we are using this thread.)

Ok so there is a way around it to make the early pre selections and just modify them to the afternoon
If you have a Park reservation for MK and you go to purchase LLMP and/or LLSP initial selections the MDE app returns a time for each attraction as you select it and you are able to change the time immediately to another time during the day.

If you just continue and select up to 3 initial LLMP selections you still have a total of 5 minutes to complete your modifications and complete your purchase.

Does that make sense?

Dave

So if park hours get added do LLMPs time slots get added?

Hours are being added all over then place in Dec. Any first hand experiences getting a sold out LLMP like SDD or Tiana?

We snagged Tiana’s day-of after starting our LLMP at Animal Kingdom. If I recall correctly, it was at around 9:45am.

Earlier that day, Tiana’s was showing unavailable.

Are these hours being added less than 7 days out? I thought they were typically added about 2 weeks out but haven't been tracking Dec times specifically.

If you look at the Thrill Data on LLMP sell outs, things aren't selling out and/or pushing that late in the evening more than 7 days. Slinky is the worst and it has availability in the afternoon right now as of 7 days out. So, the change in park hours is probably making those LLMP available into the system when they previously hadn't been, but the change isn't being felt at booking time because they weren't sold out that late into the day anyway.

Tiana's has a ton of documented drops throughout the day. That was the 9:47 drop that you snagged, not a change because of evening hours.

Yeah I understand the whole process of selecting and modifying but comes down to having the MYW tickets and having to make park reservation. If there wasn't a reservation like normal tickets you can just buy MK LLMP and go to another park in the morning. The MYW tickets I can only reserve one park and has to be the one I start at. As explained above I can reserve MK make selections then change reservation to AK while keeping LLMP for MK later in the day.

I agree that Tiana was just a drop. I checked randomly yesterday and today and Tiana showed up as available as a LLMP.

Haven’t seen SDD show up or even Remy. The waits and sell outs are going to be more intense over Christmas/NY.

From reports hours were added unexpectedly less than 2 weeks before a trip.

To monitor, we'd need a date where it was less than 7 days, as Slinky is the first to sell out and that's on day 7.

I'm seeing an article from 11/25 where the earliest date listed is a 12/8 change. And, an article from 12/7 where the earliest date listed is a 12/22 change. Neither of those was close enough to the actual date for a sell out to suddenly come back into availability because nothing was sold out.

Is there a particular date you're aware of that was changed with only 7 days notice for HS? (Tiana would be more like 4 days for an MK hours extension.)

I’m sure this has been asked but I couldn’t find it. I’m staying the first night (January 11th) at POR then the next 13 nights (January 12th is the first night) at WL. My ticket date also starts the 12th. Would my 7 days start prior to my first night at POR even though I have no ticket for that day or for the next day when my ticket starts? I know it’s only one day difference but I want to book them as early as I can.

No I asked the OP but they said ‘very very recent’ as an answer to that question. I had posted hours change 2 weeks and the person quoted my post and said they were suddenly surprised.

I think @scrappinginontario also replied that hours have changed day of occasionally when they decide to keep the park open later.

Hi all! I've used LLMP and LLSP several times, since July, so I'm familiar with how it works. However, I'm not entirely sure about the following scenario. Some friends are staying onsite for 4 nights, then moving offsite for 3 nights. They will be doing 3 parks while staying ONsite, and then 1 park when staying OFFsite (buying 4 day tickets). They will be able to book their first 3 park days, 7 days in advance since they are staying onsite. For their final park day, when will they be able to book it? I'm thinking 3 days before their park ticket officially begins, but I wanted to verify. Thanks!

Just reading the Disneyworld website, I would agree with you. However, it apparently works differently. See Post 4290 on page 215 of this thread.

Hmmm, thanks for pointing to that thread. How disappointing! I'll have to think about strategy then!

When you select your 3 passes you can get pm times? Say we want to go to AK using only LLSP but book LLMP for the evening at MK (I know you can modify but can you select times like old FP+)

Just wanted to share a firsthand report of using LL for a late arrival.
We were in the parks the week after Thanksgiving, and were gambling on low-ish crowds (MK party days, etc) so only booked LLs for one day.

12/1 we started the morning at MK to take advantage of the low pre-party crowds, and the plan was to hop to HS in the afternoon.
I pre-booked:
Midway Mania 4-5
Slinky 5-6 (then adjusted to 4:40-5:40)
Tower of Terror 7-8

We arrived at HS 3:23pm. In the next 5 hours we accomplished:
Frozen sing along
Midway Mania (LL)
Slinky (LL)
All 3 Star Wars M&Gs
dinner @ Backlot Express
Smugglers Run (LL - booked after Midway Mania)
Star Tours (walk on)
Tower of Terror (LL)
Fantasmic
Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway (LL - booked after Slinky, took a lot of refreshing but finally got one)

I'm really impressed with how much it allowed us to fit in to that one evening! Totally worth it for us, and it set us up really well for our future park days.

[For those curious, from 8:45am-3pm at MK, with those low pre-party crowds, we were able to knock out 10 rides/attractions, nothing we did was more than a 15 minute wait!]

Yes the MDE app will offer you the next available return time by default but yes you can switch to a later time. You will see little time bubbles and you just pick one for later in the day or evening.

Yes you can select later times, see my answer above.

If I select LLMP + LLSP for tron & 7DMT at MK - after I select and choose my group members, what happens next? Anyone have images or video? I want to be prepared thanks!

You would come to this page:

Pretend you select Peter Pan, Buzz, and Dumbo, then you will see this:

All your MP and SP rides are listed. The times showed are pre-selected by the app, but you can modify them.

Once you're satisfied with the time, the next page is for payment.

Do they give earliest availability or is it random? Would be best to just take what they give and grab other days then go back and modify?
