Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Respectfully, the VIP tours at Disney (and Universal) give you a lot more than just unlimited access to their express lanes. They are a true front of the line service (walk right on)
They are absolutely not this at Disney. For a tiny minority of rides they offer FOTL. For the majority, including the headliners, you wait in the Lightning Lane.

How do you know when the drop times will be?
It will be a closely held secret that park insiders know and leak to their friends so that only true superusers who have some kind of Disney in will be able to take advantage of it. A really great system!

It’s 2024 - anyone who can access the internet and do some research will be able to know. Honestly that’s all that “super users” for any of these systems have been - people who have taken the time to do some research to figure out a strategy. It’s not as inaccessible as people like to make it out to be.

I can use the internet and love to do research but it helps to have some idea what I am searching for on the internet or what I am actually researching beyond the words at what time will Disney drop more lightening land access

It’ll be all over the boards and the most popular Disney bloggers and vloggers will post about it.

This is just not true with regards to the drop times. I did years of searching in threads across multiple forums and I was only ever able to find a few drop times in one thread over on wdw magic forums. It is a closely held secret that Disney insiders give to their friends. Maybe forum regulars are transmitting it via private message, but you're sure not going to find them with a google search, or even with forum searches.

Historically this has not happened. There are still genie+ drop times available NOW. I challenge you to find what they are. Again, I've only ever seen them public-facing in one thread on wdw magic forums, and that was just for a few rides at each park. They are a closely-held secret amongst Disney insiders and their friends.

I have been watching a lot of videos and have not seen anything beyond keep checking because Disney will add access during the day for certain rides on occasion

Can you share which videos are more specific
You absolutely will not find them on youtube. The people who are claiming "everyone can just use drop times!" are the ones who know the drop times because they know somebody who told them what they are.

I mean, i can post that the genie+ drop times are (or at least were) 10:47 AM, 1:17 PM, and 3:47 PM for Toy Story Mania, SDD, and TOT at Hollywood Studios, but that's because I know that from that one public facing thread. Most people aren't going to be able to know that without someone telling them.

I just got an email from Thrill Data documenting drop times for Tiana Genie+ at 48 minutes after the hour. So such things will not remain a secret much longer.
Thrill data heat maps don't tell you when the drop times are though, or are you claiming that they actually emailed you what the specific drop times are for Tiana's? I've never seen that on their website.

So....in the short term, do you think more people will buy LLMP than Genie +? Or will sales dip as people watch it to see it's worth?
Personally - I never liked Genie+ because I can’t do a full day in the parks so afternoon stacking wasn’t a good option for me…I do plan on taking advantage of LLMP and am willing to pay more than G+ because it works much better for me and how I like to ‘do Disney’…

This is what I got in the email.
This is the kind of info that make researching and planning so important. Epcot is another example with Remie for instance. If you book Frozen (or another tier 1 at Epcot in the morning) it is nice to know that you can probably snag another G+ (or hopefully MPLL in this case) for Remie later with a drop

Hey, ill say it.... I am not a fan of this. I was book8ng a trip for nov 29 to dec 8 and just cancelled my plans for it. Theres a lot I want to see about how it works before I plan to revisit the parks. Right now heres a big hang up im stuck on:

So you can plan 7 days out (if staying on disnprop etc), so 7 days ahead i pick my 3 rides. Now, I cant plan anuthing else for 7 days until i use my first pass. Meanwhile, all the people who can begin booking 7 days out a day after me, i.e. 6 daysbout for me. So heres an example. Lets say my 1st park will be Hollywood,so 7 days out I book tower, rockn, and runaway rail. Ok. Now my next park im going to on day 2 is MK. By the time I get to MK, now 7 addtl days away, everything i wanna do will be taken.

Every day there are people who are beginning their booking for 7 days out. So a day after you make your first 3 choices, there will be 7 days wotlrth of people all booking things for the parks you are doing on your 2nd, 3rd, 4th day of your trip etc. This to me makes this system worth buying for your 1st day only, if at all.

Hey I could be way off here but logistically this looks like a monster negative impact. Normally, by rope dropping and using genie plus/ill, I can finish all rides except for shows by 2pm the latest anywhere except at MK where there are a lot of rides I wont do like barnstormer, race track cars, orbiter. Those would take a little longer till about 4 or 5.

Anyway, cant wait to read up on here and watch yputibe recaps after the 1st week.

First of all, you can book for your entire trip on day 1, so you don't have to wait until 7 days out for each park. I'm not sure I follow your logic on booking for your second day park.)

Secondly, regardless of when people book, there will still be the same number of people in the park. With the new system, bookings for LL for each single date are spread out over weeks instead of everyone picking right at 7am. The slots will fill more slowly.
