Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

And that is why it is absurd to think it won't go up in price. It is G+ with a HUGE addition to prebook a Tier 1 ride. Almost like a free semi-ILL is included.

There is the negative of no redos of rides, which probably isn't a big deal to many folks. You get so few rides anyway, you have to REALLY love one to use two slots for it.

It will go up in price, guaranteed. The question is, how quickly and how far. There is a ceiling for what visitors are willing to pay, or just give up visiting at all due to the overall cost of a WDW vacation.

My opinion and experience: FP+ was available to every single guest and still worked well if you planned and used it. (others may argue differently, that's fine) so there is a LOT of capacity for this system. I will say guests are far more forgiving when a system is free. When you are paying out of pocket for a service like MPLL guests will expect a certain level of service/reward and will be far quicker to complain, or demand refunds.

May just be me, but LLMP does not seem like much of an upgrade to Genie+. Actually, it's not just me, as many here agree. I get the convenience of not having to be up at 7AM, but other than that ... And I never once had trouble getting a spot for any of what is now considered Tier 1. The only one, in fact, that we ever had to scramble for was SDD, and all the others had availability throughout the day save for the Rat Ride (and I assume Frozen, but we never tried for that).

Doesn't mean they won't raise the price though, as we all know.

I guess I'm getting all of the different systems confused. I thought the current Genie + was one time per ride.
Yep, you're right. As I wrote above I realized although we did ride TSMM again and again, it was because the standby line was basically non-existent. Will edit.

I would not count the tier 1 attractions as individual lightening lane status. Soarin’ does not equate to ILL…the only one that is sort of ILL worthy is Tiana’s and I highly doubt people will be able to snag that unless their trip is at least 6 days.

So it’s like FP+ all over. I remember not getting FOP until day 5-6 of your vacation.

Digital ride photos will included with the purchase of Genie+. Has there been any confirmation if this perk is also included when you buy a multi pass?

I ended up calling guest relations because of my upcoming trip in November which is a rather odd set up. I have a 14 day ticket starting on November 3rd with the first 4 days of my trip I'm staying with my family offsite with the remainder of my trip being on-site with 3 different resorts. When I called I was trying to get clarification on when I'd be allowed to book since my first portion of my trip is off-site, I assume I'm only allowed to start 3 days prior to that. But all she kept looking at only my on-site stay portion (starting 11/7) all excited telling me how I'll be able to start 7 days prior to that (10/31) But if my offsite starts on 11/3, that means I can start booking on the same date which is 10/31🤪 And since you can book the length of your ticket it should include every portion of my trip, right through my on-site stay. Though i will not be booking LLMP for every day that I'm there, I just needed to know how it's gonna work on the day it opens up. Which in the end, I don't even think she knew what she was talking about LOL.

Except...FP+ was free. I think that means it won't be quite as hard. At least, I hope that's right
I assume this as well. I did a more thorough breakdown of my thoughts upthread, but basically my line of thought is, as FP+ was free, everyone interested used it (maybe not as efficiently as us Dissers) and, but just as important people would book things, every day of their stay, they might not even be that interested in, cause hey, why not?

So unless they significantly reduce LL capacity from before (and again they might be able to release MORE spots if there has been a reduction of use through the DAS), my thinking is there will be similar or better availability as under Genie+, with less "competition" for those spots as under FP+. I guess we'll know more in a couple weeks ...

Even with a paid system Remy and Slinky are still gone very quickly the day of so I expect that to still sell out quickly. We will see how Tiana goes but I don’t expect to get any of those three on arrival day.

I'm still confused by the requirement that all of the pre-booked lightning lanes have to be in the same park.

Let's say I have a non-dated park hopper ticket, so I have to make a park reservation. I make a reservation for Animal Kingdom with plans to park hop to Hollywood Studios.

With Genie+, I would rope drop Animal Kingdom and stack lightning lanes in Hollywood Studios.

With the new system, can I pre-book lightning lanes in Hollywood Studios, and this would meet the requirement that all pre-booked lightning lanes are in the same park? Or am I only allowed to pre-book lightning lanes in Animal Kingdom because that's where my park reservation is? Or do we not know the answer to this yet??

Alternatively, if I have dated park hopper tickets and I don't have to make a park reservation, then could I make pre-booked lightning lanes in Hollywood Studios for the afternoon, but scan into Animal Kingdom first? This would seem to put anyone who requires a park reservation at a disadvantage.

I agree. I'm not planning any of those on my arrival day either. I wasn't too worried about getting any of the Lightning Lane Single Passes though. Since none of them sell out before park opening and I will be able to book 7 days in advance, I don't think they are likely to sell out before I can book. I'll definitely be watching for this in in the initial days. I was hoping to buy FOP for my first park day.

I think this is fair. If under Genie+ a ride booked fast, expect that to continue. And if it had availability all through the day, that shouldn't change either. Remember, just because you can prebook earlier, doesn't mean MORE people are prebooking.

And as I noted above in our Genie+ experience the only rides we wanted that eventually sold out were SDD (right away) and the Rat.

I can speak to your latter question. We have week long park hoppers next month. On our first day we will book LLMPs for HS for the afternoon, and scan into MK in the morning.

Our last visit, admittedly during a "lower" crowd time (end of August) I don't think I can recall LLSPs selling out for any ride until the afternoon at the earliest; some days some rides had availability until end of day.

They will almost certainly utilize periodic drops of LL inventory during the day with the new system. They've done it with every one before. Even in FP+ days it was not hard to get FoP day of if you knew when the drop times were, I did it multiple times. Under G+ I have pulled Remy, Frozen and SDD at various times during the day.

How do you know when the drop times will be?
