Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

It’s absolutely wrong! Response on Facebook page from Disney is:

Due to reasons out of our control, there are certain Website/ App features unavailable to our international guests including this new Lighting Lane Multi-Pass/Single Pass update. We understand how disappointing that can be, so I do apologize for the inconvenience. You will have access to the Pre-Planning Features once you are in the USA
For such a powerful company - whose business is all about bookings and reservations - it's astounding that they'd pass it off as an "inconvenience".

If it wasn't going to work for all their visitors, they should have approached it differently. They haven't even said they'll keep a reserve of passes for international visitors to try to balance it out. They've basically just said hard luck!

I don’t see any character meets on the lists…. Assuming they will be tier 2, or are they no longer getting LLs?

At ropedrop I wonder if we'll see lots of people quickly tapping into teacups en route to 7dmr so they are eligible to book another tier one ride (at any park mind you)?
But the 7D rope drop rush is during early entry, wouldn't the first LL be at reg. park opening? I feel like for me personally, it could be more like Pan at 9am, if going to say 7D, Space, then tap at Pan, pick your 4th while going through the line.

i believe at the moment under the new system, there will be no LLs.
I think dropping the Meet & Greets is strange...that creates a lot loss available selections.
I really hope that isn’t true, for kids who love meet and greets it’s super annoying to not be able to use a LL for it, and it also reduces the selections.

It will be interesting to see if Disney has learned anything from FP+ days and will hold back on inventory for guests to be able to grab LL's on the day they are in the parks. If not, the chances of grabbing additional tier 1 rides at parks like HS will be very difficult.

I know it's all speculation at this point, but Tom Bricker is reporting that he believes this is what will happen. Just like with FP and Genie, there will likely be random drops of new LLs during the day. Again, just speculation, but I do hope that's what happens.

You "paid" indirectly, as part of the price of your park ticket and/or hotel room cost.

Of course, it will still be part of the premium they'll charge for onsite hotel rooms, even if you choose not to buy it for any of the days you stay there.
I don't disagree on the lack of free anything. But before there were "free" FPs with park tickets and hotels as the 2 primary mediums for pricing, and now there are park tickets, hotels, and LLs (with the added single use LL selections). The added pricing medium allows them to increase pricing across more products to make it seem more palatable. Could they increase the pricing for 2 things to same absolute total as 3 things, sure. But these added pricing tools provides them with more flexibility since they can increase pricing of all of them.
