Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

This will be my first trip using the new pre-booked 3 lightning lane passes. We are also APs. I know that I still have to book park reservations but can hop whenever except MK after 2.

Do I have to book the 7 day advanced 3 LL passes for the park I have a res for or can I book for the park I plan to hop to?

Thanks for any help!
I think you can park hop anytime once you’ve entered the first park. Buses park to park start 10 am

https://plandisney.disney.go.com/qu...nnual-pass-holders-park-hopping-rules-586355/

We have booked LLSP in our first and LLMP in second park (banking on VQs and lower waits in the am). Currently you can’t book LLMP in 2 parks (that may change anytime), but you can bookmark 2 LLSPs a day (so Tron or SDMT (Tiana is VQ or LLMP only) and ROTR (park2) for instance).

Edit: removed old info

Thank you!
So if I'm understanding, I can book AK as my first park and then hop to HS with my 3 prebooked LLMP for HS? This would be great!

This thread is intended for LL but I wanted to clear up some misinformation provided. AP guests can hop to any park at any time of the day once they have tapped into the park where their reservation is booked. This includes hopping to MK 7 days a week.

Yes that plan will work just fine. You can even book a LLSP at AK for FOP since you are able to book up to 2 LLSP and they may be at any park. Also just a reminder that if your plans change and you want to enter HS as your first of the day you will need a park reservation if you enter before 2 PM.

Wonderful, thank you!

I searched for the answer to my question but didn’t find it. Is Guardians as forgiving for coming late for a LLSP as it is for VQ?
CM made a comment to us about being late when it tapped blue but we were at lunch or something and they let us through without anything else being said. Surprised me a bit that they said anything with how lax the VQ is but I made a note to be more timely when possible with that one.

Clarification- it was the slightest of comments and not confrontational or anything, I really expect any sorta excuse will get you cleared to use your LLSP there if you aren’t like 5 hours late.

We are currently at Disney World. I thought I'd let people know how we are doing with/without Single and Multi-Pass Lightning Lanes.

We spent today at Animal Kingdom. For reference-there are eight of us. Before arriving, we bought LLSP for FOP. We did not buy LLMP for AK. We are staying on Disney property. The buses leave for the parks one hour before park openings. Early Entry for Animal Kingdom was 7:30am. We hopped on the first bus at 6:30am. Got to AK by 6:50am. By the time we got to the entrance, Pandora was opened (before 7:30am). Did Navi twice (no wait) and then headed to Safari (a ten-minute wait for the ride to open) and walked right on. Returned to FOP and rode. Then, did almost every other ride and show at the park. The longest wait was Everest (about 45 minutes). Most waits were about ten minutes. We finished at about 4:00pm. This included lunch, a few gift shop stops, snacks, and plenty of bathroom breaks. My husband and I then headed back to our hotel. The rest of the bunch stayed to see Tough to be a Bug (a show we had not seen) and watch the Tree of Life and Pandora light up.

I believe that we could not have done everything we did without the LLSP for FOP. Also, arriving early was crucial This saved us tremendous wait times and set us up to do all that we did throughout the day.

I am planning my first trip with the new LLMP system.

I read that the system will not allow for too much overlap between the 3 pre-booked LLMP selections (0-15 min overlap might be possible).

However, is the LLSP a different system than the LLMP, meaning can I have overlap between my LLSP and my LLMP? I am confident we will be able to move through both quickly enough...I hope it to be for SDMT and Pooh. Can it be complete overlap between these 2 rides? Like (9am-10am SDMT) and (9am-10am Pooh)?

So we only want to book a few LLs before our trip. I know we can purchase/book 7-days in advance of our trip. Our first park day is Sunday, January 26th. So on January 19th....what time do I need to get on the app to book? Midnight? 7am? (And which time zone?)

Thanks!

You may be able to get overlaps of up to 20 minutes on LLMP attractions. Please be aware that you need to make your adjustments / changes to get the overlaps within the 5 minute period that MDE will hold your selections before you need to complete your purchase. Also any ADR you have during the times you are trying to book your LLMP selections will cause issues.

Can it be complete overlap between these 2 rides? Like (9am-10am SDMT) and (9am-10am Pooh)?
You do have more flexibility with overlapping a LLSP selections with a LLMP selection but I have not seen a 100% overlap as in your example.

If anyone is interested-Day 2 of our Disney trip: LLSP and LLMP or not.

We did Epcot. We got LLSP for Guardians.

Left our hotel and got to Disney by 7:45am. Were pretty close to the front of the line. A cast member walked us into the park and then held us until 8:30am. And, then----WOW! We were headed to Remy. The people swarmed around us. I had wanted to be near the front of the line, BUT my husband has two hip replacements and could not walk all that fast. By the time we got to the line for Remy, there was a 90-minute wait. We waited in line about 30 minutes and then decided to head to the SINGLE RIDER LANE. We were on the ride in about 10 minutes. This saved the day.

We headed for Guardians and then Spaceship Earth. At this point our group split up into two groups. My group did some of World Showcase and a few rides at World Celebration. Next, we all headed back to the hotel for a rest, and then some of the group went back to Epcot for additional rides and the light show. Not me. :) We left around 3:00pm. Once again, we ate lunch, visited some gift shops, and rode what we wanted to.

My husband and I didn't feel the need to do any ride with a long wait.

I would say-if you are going to do Epcot in one day and want to do all/almost all of the rides, don't want to wait too long in line, and don't know if you can go through the entire day and into the night, I would probably do LLMP.

I will do a better post once my friend finishes writing up his summary, but yesterday (Sunday 1/5) we did every ride in Magic Kingdom via LLMP or standby! Including the Liberty Belle and Tom Sawyer Island. While it was still crowded, definitely lower crowds than the previous days. Lines were mostly in the 45-60 range even for things like Little Mermaid, Haunted Mansion, Small World, etc. so people were very much spread out across the park. Surprisingly I did not even approach my highest 1 park step count even though we were extremely inefficient and crossed the park an embarrassing amount of times!

Update with time we were on the ride vehicle and our standby wait if applicable:

9:11 - Tron Lightcycle Power Run (entered during early entry and got into park around 8:10, noticed ride was running around 8:40)
9:52 - Astro Orbiter (~20)
10:01 - Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin (LL)
10:23 - Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (~5 as caught shortly after after reopening)
10:34 - Peter Pan’s Flight (LL)
10:58 - Tiana's Bayou Adventure (LL)
12:00 - Dumbo the Flying Elephant (LL)
12:15 - Walt Disney World Railroad
12:47 - Haunted Mansion (Multi-Experience pass from Pooh)
12:57 - Liberty Belle
1:30 - Main Street Vehicle
2:01 - Space Mountain (LL)
2:33 - Big Thunder Mountain Railroad (LL)
2:55 - Raft to Tom Sawyer's Island (~20)
3:40 - Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid (LL)
4:23 - Jungle Cruise (LL)
4:46 - it's a small world (LL)
5:20 - King Arthur's Regal Carrousel (~10)
5:44 - Tomorrowland Speedway (~10)
5:57 - Mad Tea Party (LL)
6:21 - Pirates of the Caribbean (LL)
6:38 - Magic Carpets of Aladdin (LL)
7:02 - Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover (~10)
7:25 - Barnstormer (LL)
8:36 - Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (~50 including two downtimes)

Also did the following, albeit briefly:

Mickey's Magical Friendship Faire
Main Street Philharmonic
Tom Sawyer Island
Swiss Family Treehouse

My friend also stayed and did carousel of progress as he counts it as a ride-based attraction, I went back to the hotel as I had to work today :rotfl:

Overall it was a fun day! We took many breaks for quick service food, water. No significant lines for food or bathrooms despite the decent sized crowds.

I will say, refreshing was far less fruitful than my prior trips with lighter crowds. We almost gave up on many LLs. But then we’d put the phone down and come back after a break and get something in 2 refreshes. Some people don’t like refreshing but I’ve always thought better to spend 1-2 hours refreshing throughout the day, than wait in hour long rides all day!

Funny enough, Barnstormer and the carpets gave us the most trouble in picking up LLs. Probably because they were our last ones and later in the day, but we almost called it quits as they were around 40 minutes standby and this was not THAT serious!

Ok everyone, my trip is coming up in about 1 month.
we are going to Boardwalk Villa on Feb 8th-15th (7 day ticket.) we will get in Orlando the night before (7th and we will stay at AK villa for the night). This is the planned itinerary of Parks:
8th (Saturday) - Epcot
9th Sunday - MK
10th Monday - Epcot for EEH
11th Tuesday - HS
12th Wednesday - MK for EEH
13th Thursday - AK
14th Friday - HS

Questions:
1. I should be able to start booking my LLMP On Jan 31st (Friday) which is 7 days prior to the first night at AK resort before we move to BWV, correct?
2. Should I add more than 1 payment option to my MDE? I heard my CC might block transactions since I will make several at the same time
3. I assume I can only do one park/day at a time correct? I can buy LLMP and LLSP at the same time for the same day on the same transaction, then we need to check out, pay, then move on to the next day/park, correct?
4. What is the best strategy? Do I start picking rides and paying ILL starting with the farthest day out then moving closer to my arrival date? or do I start with the closest day (since those will have fewer options) then move to the farthest day out? Or do I do based on the popular park/ride (like prioritize MK and HS regardless of the date)
5. Do I need to waste time picking the best time for each ride, or do I just pick three, then the single pass, check out ASAP then pick the times later once I have finalized all 7 days? I am worried about wasting time on each day trying to find the perfect time and not get the best rides/times for the other days
6. I don't plan to park hop, do you still recommend picking a low demand ride for park opening (like Dumbo, Aladdin) to unlock the tier restrictions? for all parks? or only HS or MK?
7. Chances of finding better rides/times after paying for LLMP but before arrival date? I heard a lot of things can pop up the day of your reservation, but what about few days prior? Do I keep checking frequently or just bother on the day of the park first thing in the morning?

Thanks!!

It’s a good practice to do this if booking for multiple days, yes.

It seems people find booking earliest to latest works better to get the best selections early on. There will be less people eligible to book your later days so theoretically you should have more time. I will say I tend to book our DHS day first, trying for SDD then go early to later in trip.

I like to go in with a plan of attractions and hopeful order so that all going well I can finish up without having to modify later. Booking then modifying later will affect the times available so you may get stuck with times all later in the day.

6. I don't plan to park hop, do you still recommend picking a low demand ride for park opening (like Dumbo, Aladdin) to unlock the tier restrictions? for all parks? or only HS or MK?
Booking an early attraction also offers the option to try to modify other LLs to Tier 1 attractions in the park you are in but not a lot/anything may be available depending on how busy the park is.
7. Chances of finding better rides/times after paying for LLMP but before arrival date? I heard a lot of things can pop up the day of your reservation, but what about few days prior? Do I keep checking frequently or just bother on the day of the park first thing in the morning?

Not sure about this one.

I searched for the answer to my question but didn’t find it. Is Guardians as forgiving for coming late for a LLSP as it is for VQ?
We rode Guardians VQ on 4 days of our trip we just got back from. Each and every time we were several hours late for our BG and the CM just waved us through without saying a word. The tapstile will show a spinning blue circle but they override it manually from their end and then wave you through. Note, this applies only to Guardians, I was on time for our BG for Tiana so can't say for sure what happens there. Also, the parks were very crowded on these days and we were 25 min late for a BTM LL that surprisingly turned green when we attempted to tap in fully expecting to be turned away. My mouth dropped because I thought 15 min was the absolute latest they'd let you in for a regular LL so maybe they added some sort of extra grace period or leeway during that particular week.

Please be aware that you need to make your adjustments / changes to get the overlaps within the 5 minute period that MDE will hold your selections before you need to complete your purchase.
Can you explain this bit a little more? Do you mean that the default times given to me will automatically not overlap, then I have to modify in order to get overlap? Is there a timer on the page so I know when my 5 min is almost up and I need to check out?

GOTG has been relaxed with the BG end time for a while now.

This time at MK we were told they were more concerned with the start of the VQ vs the end, which surprised me.

HS: In the past SDD turned blue at 40 mins past for a rider switch (rode MMRR inbetween). This year a LLMP (half our party joined late) was green one hour past the end of the LL window. I believe it was because it was so busy over Christmas week and huge bottlenecks everywhere (this was 12/28). Even with our best efforts it took an extra 20+ mins to get anywhere with a double stroller. We waited 15 mins post Fantasmic to let crowds clear (we got out first due to the reserved seating and separate stroller parking along the walkway; but kids needed a restroom break).
