Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Wow for 12/28, I’m allowed to overlap ROTR significantly more than the LLMP. Family is not huge Star Wars fans (I just tried to book; family is still on the fence abut spending $125 for our party of 5):

Don’t forget ROTR has a SR option now, might be worth considering if the crew won’t make the splurge. (You do miss the first part and start in the storm trooper room.)

Will be at Disney for 2 nights at Boardwalk with only one park day. First time using the LLMP.

We will be at Epcot on NYE day, with a break to go to the football bowl game mid day. It’s my wife, myself and our youngest sone (12). We will certainly LLSP GotG and try for VQ.

The only 2 rides we’d care about on LLMP would be Ratatouille and Soarin. I understand that we can only reserve 1 ahead of time. My question is after the first ride can you use the old school refresh method to see if someone drops a “soarin” at some point? Also, can you book from either category as soon as one ride time expires, or do you need to actually check in to the ride?

According to the ThrillData information, Soarin' is readily available throughout the day on a crowd level 7 day, so it should be doable even on NYE day. You do need to actually check in to a ride (it doesn't have to be your Tier 1 ride) to unlock the ability to pick up another Tier 1. Just letting it expire won't work.

Yes, you can refresh to see if LL's you wish to book open up.

Just a heads up, there is a very good chance that Epcot may close for capacity at points during NYE day. If you leave the park, it is not guaranteed that you will be able to return, even if you have things booked.

We won't really know for sure until the day of but it's a risk worth knowing should you choose to leave the park.

As the PP post said, you will have no problem getting Soarin'.

Just book Remy as your Tier 1, then book Soarin' as soon as you badge in to your first LL of the day.

I’m considering premier passes for 12/24-26. Are there any provisions for emergencies if we have to cancel our trip? Do you think WDW would refund the cost of the passes? It’s a bit unnerving to pay ahead for something so expensive with no recourse if the trip has to be canceled.

Hello! Our 7-day booking window for LL will open up this weekend. We will be visiting for 7 days (no hopping) and I wanted to see if anyone had experiences with 2 people in the same group booking LLMP selections using the same MDE account at the same time (on 2 different phones), or if it was better for the 2nd person to get their own MDE account to book simultaneously. We were going to divide up by day. We used to book using the same account on Genie+, but was curious if anyone had any experience with this on the new setup. Thanks for any guidance!

Yes don't do it. Now some details as to why not to do it. When you purchase LLMP you select up to 3 attractions at a park and during the purchase process, MDE holds your 3 selections for 5 minutes while you complete the purchase using your payment option of choice.

Yes guests have tried having 2 people sharing a single MDE account and have experienced issues transactions failing, wrong attractions selected and even payments being declined and Credit Cards marked as Fraud locked by your provider.

You really want to have a second MDE account. Yes there can be some complications with setting up the second account but those details are for another post.

Will your group be navigating the parks together or in smaller groups?

We used to book using the same account on Genie+
That was easy to purchase as there was only 1 purchase and not holding of attractions while completing purchases. As far as making additional selections timing was not a major issue with multiple instances of a single MDE account.

Thanks for the guidance! That makes a lot of sense!

And, yes, we will be navigating the parks and riding all rides together. So all of our selections will be for the entire group (4 people).

And I will look for other posts about setting up the second MDE account. But I did want to ask if you think it is worth having two people on two MDE accounts making those initial selections for a 7-day trip? I figured I would do the MK days first and then HS and finish with EP and AK. Do the first 5-10 minutes on the initial booking day at 7am generally make a big difference?

Yes it is recommended if you have the option / time available for 2 of you to be booking different days at the same time.

Yes if you have specific attractions that you want in your plans. Depending on the time of the year is it absolutely required maybe not for a slower period if you don't care about getting Morning attraction return times.

And I will look for other posts about setting up the second MDE account.
You can also just start a separate post so we don't clog up the LL discussion with a basic MDE function.

That would be unfortunate, but understand. Don’t think my youngest is willing to give up the bowl game … but I would be very disappointed if I paid for 2 nights at an upgraded room in a deluxe and had park specific day of tickets and they didn’t let us in. I’m sure we’ll still pivot and enjoy the boardwalk if that happens.

Are your NYE day tickets a single day ticket purchased for only Epcot or, did you purchase 2 day tickets?

Officially they are nontransferable and nonrefundable. It has been confirmed that for the Disneyland version they have been very strict concerning no refunds. We don't have any data on what has occurred at Disney World.

Do you have a package and trip insurance?

Dave
It’s room only at the Swan with no trip insurance. I suppose I’ll just take my chances.
