Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

I hope this is the correct thread to ask this question: We are from Scotland so cannot book LLMP until we are in the US. We arrive the day before our first park day in MK. Is there likely to be any availibility the day before?
We added a day to our trip last week I was to arrive on 9/19 but out on a drive to Tampa dh changed his mind and said book WDW for tonight making it a 2 nights stay. I had not booked any rides because we were visiting my MIL and wasn’t sure when we were going to arrive at WDW.

So in the car I played with the app around 3p. I did book GOTG for the next day . Times were 5-9p available,

I also looked and some rides were available at all parks. Dh doesn’t ride much and said not to bother. We did MK early the next morning and had the ILL for GOTG for night. We did soarin standby.

Early Sept I also had to wing it. I was able to change parks day before and same day and still get rides.

Make sure you read up about moving things. For example I really only was concerned with tier 1. If it gives you a times that is later in the day than what you want move the other 2 rides you picked late in the day and then try to modify the tier 1 to earliest available. Not a good time? Try the other tier 1 that day, Still not good ? Switch parks and may have better luck.

I tend to do Epcot for my morning with only GOTG booked and do standby rest of the rides and another park I book rides later. OR MK usually has rides enough for morning and then book a GOTG for evening. I do have an AP so can move to another park. So after we use 1st ride I check all parks for best options same day. I feel having hoppers with this system is helpful.

+We often do GOTG and then hop to hs vis boat or sky liner or back to MK via the monorail.

Try turning location services off for the MDE app, then using a VPN set to somewhere in the US. Worked for me from the Cayman Islands. It’s a pain but if it works it’s worth the effort.

I have done so much due diligence on this new system but I still managed to encounter a curve ball this morning when booking at 7 days out. I forgot that my in-laws arrive the day after us so their window doesn't open until tomorrow. I went ahead and booked everything for my family and will book for my in-laws tomorrow. I am anticipating having trouble getting overlapping plans for our 1st day on Oct 2 at Hollywood Studios but hopefully I will eventually be able to get our plans to sync up, even up to day of.

Do you by chance have more than one room booked? Or have space for 2 extra guests in your resort room? I read someone had a similar issue and just added their parents to their room for the first night so they were able to get the LLMP for the same time.

Yes, that is a trick that will work but I already have all spots assigned to my family of 5 which is the room capacity. I feel bad for casual planners, the system definitely favors superusers and even then, sometimes we get tripped up. I'm sure I will get it all worked out but it will just require more effort and time.

Just want to make sure I don’t mess up.

Our check in day is Sunday October 6th. So does our window to book open on Sunday November 29th? or Monday the 30th?

So very frustrated. Can book LLMP today as we are 3 days out, I'm in Canada. Get all the way to entering my card number but it's like the bottom of the screen us cut off and there's no way to click purchase or whatever it is supposed to say. I can see partial words of proceed with your purchase but there's no way to do so and some words are cut off. What am I doing wrong? I want to cry.

I’m so sorry. Disney IT is the worst. Did it all work out okay?

Another last minute question. Our Magic Kingdom day is also a NSSHP day (we will be attending the party).

When it comes to booking reservations for that day, is there a cutoff /restriction as to what times rides can be booked? i.e. cant book times past 6 oclock?

Are you using an iPad or an Android tablet? It should work on smartphones with most Text setting Have you tried adjusting your Screen Text size to be smaller?

Adjusting the Font Size on iPhone:
  1. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness, then select Text Size.
  2. Drag the slider to select the font size you want.

Adjusting the Font Size on Android:
  1. On your device, open the Settings app.
  2. Search and select Font size.
  3. To change your preferred font size, move the slider left or right.
What am I doing wrong? I want to cry.

We need to know what device you are try to use to purchase you LLMP and/or LLSP?

Correct, you cannot book LLs after the park is closed. You also can’t use them after the park is closed.

ETA: you can

Correct you can't book anything after park close. There will be no times listed. The system knows the day's regular hours. All hard ticket events like MNSSHP have only Standby queues.

Minor correction. If you have LL for that last hour or so of official park time, your light will still turn green scanning in between 6-7pm. We had two LL that were scheduled for 4:30-5:30 and didn’t make them because HM had more delays than usual, and scanned into one at 6:02 and one around 6:30. Both tapstyles turned green.

At the second, we had asked the CMs about whether it would work, and they thought it was likely too late but we were welcome to try and see, and we were all surprised when it worked, even though we were an hour late and a half hour after park close.

Only good for that day, in that park unless it goes down before closing. Then they usually give one for the next day to be used at any park (some rides, not included)
Yes, this. I had an LLMP for FEA for 8:15 pm and the ride went down. My multi-experience pass (btw, it isn't called that anymore) was good for any park, any tier (FEA is Tier 1) through the next day.

A few things to remember about that kind of pass:

(1) If you have other LLMPs scheduled for the day you're going to use the MEP (we'll just call it that for the sake of convenience), in order to make sure that the scheduled LLMP is being used for that particular ride and not the MEP, you have to tap into the scheduled ride during the exact time window for the ride. If you tap in during the pre- or post-ride buffer (5 minutes before, 15 minutes after), the system will use your MEP and not your scheduled LLMP. So be careful.

(2) You can select a specific ride/attraction you want to use your MEP for--there's a way to do this on the app. My MEP said "Select Experience" on the headline. I didn't do this, but it can be done. You can't select a time, but you can select an experience. If it's not the same as any of your preselected LLMPs, you can then forget about the buffer thing, since the MEP will be used only for the ride/attraction you specified. I believe (but have no experience with this) that you can actually specify a ride you already have a preselected LLMP for as your selected experience on the MEP. And for sure you can use your MEP for a ride you have already used or have scheduled an LLMP for. Just be careful about the buffer thingy.

(3) If you wonder how long your MEP is good for, it says right there--Good on [fill in the date(s)]. Mine said it was good for that day and the next. I went to a Plaid (they were just standing there nearby) to make sure this was correct and they assured me it was. I used mine the next day--and used it for FEA, as originally intended, since I wanted to ride it.

I got a lot of help from this board with this very thing, so I hope this is helpful to someone else.

Thanks, I will try this. It's an Android.

Adjusted font size to lowest possible and this is the screen I get. As you can see the bottom is cut off. So frustrated.1000014269.jpg

OK let's try use the web version of MDE to access your profile and add up to 6 payment methods. Yes MDE still has some web functions to use. The one you want to use is your Account Profile: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/profile

You will need to enter your MDE account password even if you Name is displayed on the top Blue bar. If you are not already Signed In to your Account then you will need your Account Name an Password.

If you don't want to use the direct link just go to any https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/ page on on top bar you can Sign In and then Select the MyDisneyExperience link on the top navigation bar on the right side. It is right next to the Cart Icon.

Select your Profile, it is the first link with your Name and your Character Image. On the Profile page you just scroll down to the Payment Method and click on the line. You will a place to add a Payment Method.

Once you have made your additions / updates to your Payment Methods. You can just close your MDE App and reopen it and your Payment Options should be available to use.
