Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

I'm someone will correct me if my memory isn't recalling correctly but I seem to remember at last year's MNSSHP that they had to scan my ticket for the party when I went to pick up my wrist band. We'd gone earlier on our day tickets but had to prove we had tickets to get our wristbands. Wouldn't that you "technically" scanned in?
In your example you did use a "day ticket" (general park admission). The other poster is attempting to NOT use a day ticket but still use LLMP/SP with a party admission.
Also- last year it would have been Genie+ so not necessarily a parallel situation as not all rules are identical between Genie+ and LLMP/SP.

Ah, I think I get it now. I think I was reading it as they were able to book LLMP/SP because they have regular tickets but if they don't scan in with the reg. tickets, LLMP, even if they were able to prebook with disney seeing they had a reg. ticket, would be voided/cancelled since they are tapping in with a party ticket, which as a hard ticket event, isn't allowed. Wow, sorry for all the commas! 🤣

Yes, and this poster does have a multi day admission that they hope to save for later in their trip. That is how they plan to book the LLMP/SP in the first place, so I'm thinking there's also a chance that if they try to use the LL before the party the theoretically saved day on that ticket will somehow come into play, be used, and they won't have that extra day later in the trip.

I guess i just dont understand why someone would want to buy the multipass for just 3 hours. Last time i had just a party ticket i was able to get some rides in before the party with no LL. it sounds like , based on so far reports , that if you go the biggies around 6 or around midnight , its not too bad, and also, if you think your going to churn over LLs, how many are actually going to be just sitting there waiting for you to claim in that short window whuch arent rides with more minimal waits anyway? What am i missing? Cause i will have LLMP from earlier in the day, and while i figure we’ll have straggler LLs that we grab earlier in the day before we break, i dont think they’ll be anything major. The only thing i can see is the availability to book 3 better ones ahead of time at those times? But, it was pretty easy at party entry to ride the tier 2s anyway and you cant modify till you tap into your first ride anyway- which means you’d have to have Tiana’s booked right at 4, and then i guess you could probably have SM availability….

Yes even Tier 1 attractions. Once you tap into your first attraction, Tiers are gone and you can book any attraction except ones that you have already used a LLMP to ride.

Follow up similar question. Once you scan into your park that day, can you modify or cancel a tier 2 and book another tier 1 without actually scanning in a LL ride? Or do you have to actually use a LL pass to unlock that feature?

You have to scan into your 1st LL (any tier) or let it expire before you can modify or book another tier 1.

Booked this morning. 6 day trip, split stay. Friends' app suddenly at 7a no longer showed the week beyond our current. He ended up having to switch to an iPad which was a PITA. He had been prepped and ready to go too. Thankfully, he was assigned the last 3 days of the trip. I booked 1st 3 LL only with gift cards. When I went back to add iLLs, it wouldn't let me check out-i think it was an issue with my account or app and not gift cards, as I tried all 3 gift cards and none would work

I’m curious to know if you got the rides and times that you wanted. I don’t book until September 8 and all I can think of is how many credit cards do I need to have ready in order to be able to get what I want.

Seeing reports of guests having issues using disney gift cards for mp/sp. One person I was talking to said he had put enough money on his gift card to cover his seven day tickets. By the time he went to purchase his fifth day, gift card services shut the gc down for fraud (multiple errors when try to pay) He said he was on the phone with them trying to get it sorted for over an hour with them stating that it would take 48 hours to unlock the card. He did state he fought to get immediate access to his money but was wondering if anybody else was having this sort of issue. I was planning on using strictly a gift card since credit cards have been having issues, now it looks like this seems to be a problem too.
I just used a gift card on Tuesday to book 8 days of MP/SP. I had no issues. I was definitely waiting for something to happen though. Luckily it went ok.

It's just a small group going, all with party tickets but with some of us having APs and others only having 3 days tickets. It's just cheaper to buy MP for all of us than it would be to buy an extra park day for those that don't have it to either go into the park earlier or go to MK a different day as well. I would be happy if we just got Tiana's and 2 tier 2 attractions. Maybe buy TRON. Not trying to get a ton of LLs, just trying to get some good rides in during the in-between time before the party starts so we don't have to spend as much party time in line so we can ride some rides and see all the shows, etc.

That makes sense. Sort of guarantee of at least having those things booked with a small window of opportunity to enjoy the park.

So, I definitely used thrill data the night before to adjust my expectations. Slinky is towards the end of the trip obviously, and best I could get on my 3rd day for Tianas was a 2pm. Very few opening time slots which is what I was hoping for my tier 2s. AK was day 4 and was a breeze-exactly what we wanted. day 5 and 6 we also got what we wanted almost.

I appreciate the posters who have added their MPLL/SPLL experiences to this thread, so here goes:

I was up and ready to go right at 7:00am today for my MPLL day. I had my DD22 with me as I'm not great with technology, but not too difficult.
August 18th-23rd Beach Club.
Planning to rope drop and then take breaks to rest and swim from 2-6pm most days at resort.
5 days of park hoppers with MPLL on the 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd.
Cost of 4 days of MPLL for four people and SPLL for FOP (4 people), TRON (2 people), GOTG x 2 (2 people) $744.87CAD (just calculated it in Canadians dollars from my credit card - the exchange makes it even worse, ugh!)

Only one problem- when I went on to the app, every day was showing for my trip except for the 20th (which is our MK day and I wanted to get it first for Tiana). So, I did the 21st (DHS) and then went back to the 20th. Still not showing (faded out) so I just pushed where the 20th should be, and oddly, it worked. So then I booked our MK day and got Tiana's but not until 2:35pm (much later than I was hoping for). It was about 7:03am at this time, so I'm thinking that I could have had an hour or two earlier if I had actually started with the MK, which was my original plan. Then we did the 19th (AK) and finally the 22nd (Epcot). We have hoppers and will hop every day.

19th AK - 8:35am Safari; 9:30 FOTLK; 10:35 FOP (SPLL for all 4 of us); 10:55 Na'vi
We will rope drop Dinosaur and EE, likely getting a couple of rides on each. I would rather pay SPLL for FOP than face the massive crowds as we are using a wheelchair for my dad for the first time. PM- hop to Epcot

20th- MK- 8:15am Haunted Mansion; 8:55am Pirates; 12:15 TRON (SPLL for two daughters); 2:35pm Tiana's. We will rope drop Space Mt., Buzz, Pooh. Hoping to be able to get for LL's or stand by Jungle Cruise and/or BTMRR. PM- hop to Epcot (8:00pm SPLL for Guardians of the Galaxy for two daughters).

21st - DHS- 9:15am MMRR; 9:55am Tower of Terror; 10:55am Toy Story; We will rope drop Tower of Terror (this is the only ride my daughters really want to get in at least twice on the trip) and Rock n Rollercoaster;
We do not want to ride SDD or Aliens or Star Wars Land, but we will fill in with Star Tours, Muppets and hopefully an extra ride at Toy Story (stand by, maybe early in the morning???) PM- hop to MK for dinner and Deluxe Hours, but probably won't stay too late; really hope to get on Peter Pan as it is supposed to open back up this day.

22nd- Epcot- 9:10am Frozen; 9:50am Living with the Land; 10:45am Spaceship Earth; We will rope drop Remy. Also plan to get LL for Soarin' (hopefully around 10:30am). Possibly get a VQ for Guardians, but if we don't, we have purchased a couple of SPLL's for it. Probably will get by 3 Caballeros, enjoy the World Showcase and shop a bit. PM- hop to DHS

23rd- Epcot / departure day- SPLL for GOTG at 9:05am (for two daughters)

We decided to buy MPLL and several SPLL's as we don't know when we will be back again. My dad loves Disney (age 82) and rides many of the rides / loves the shows, so thought it would help having some LL's. We are doing three days at Universal (Hard Rock Hotel, so express pass, which is great) before Disney. We will do what we can. We've been many times (almost always in August), so don't have to necessarily do everything, and enjoy our resort pool/nap in the afternoons. We have the regular dining plan, so will sit down once a day.

If it makes you feel better, I booked the 20th at MK first and only got 2p for tianas even tho it said 105p initially! Was on right at 7a today

It will not work as you think your workaround should work. You have to have a valid theme park admission. Your Party Ticket is not a valid admission for LLMP / LLSP redemption. So while you may able to purchase them by playing ticket games you will not be able to redeem them.

They closed this workaround with Genie+ back in January for After Hours tickets.

Here is the magic Disney wording: To redeem your selection, you’ll tap in at the Lightning Lane entrance using a MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, Key to the World Card or ticket card that’s linked to your valid theme park admission.

So I agree with this. We had 6 day park hoppers starting the 1st day of our trip. After buying 6 multipasses, there are no further options to buy additional days, even tho technically my ticket could've been used for several days beyond the 1st 6. The system recognized I had 6 day tickets, and linked me to 6 multipasses

I had been following the thrill tracker link too (very helpful) and saw that 1:05 was the earliest time available and was hoping for that time. I'll keep looking for an earlier time, but if not, we will make our 2:35pm work.

I had maybe a 3 second delay of hesitation as I had been originally planning book my HS day first- and I guess that's all it took to bump to 2

Okay, so it does check for number of valid ticket days and number of multipass days you are booking. But I'm wondering if it would let me hold 3 days of multipass, use one if I can on the party day without using a standard ticket, then book another multipass after that for our last day. So we never have more multipasses than valid tickets

I thought you aren't able to cancel them? Plus, which park would you go last to? Make sure to check LL availability on thrill data as if it is HS or MK, I suspect you won't be able to get many of your top choices at good times that close to park date
