Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Seeing reports of guests having issues using disney gift cards for mp/sp. One person I was talking to said he had put enough money on his gift card to cover his seven day tickets. By the time he went to purchase his fifth day, gift card services shut the gc down for fraud (multiple errors when try to pay) He said he was on the phone with them trying to get it sorted for over an hour with them stating that it would take 48 hours to unlock the card. He did state he fought to get immediate access to his money but was wondering if anybody else was having this sort of issue. I was planning on using strictly a gift card since credit cards have been having issues, now it looks like this seems to be a problem too.
Damn. I was planning on using gc too and everything he reported sounds plausible. Disney doesn’t do JACK to speed up unlocking a gc they have locked. People mid-trip are told to suck it for 48 hours. We’ve had reports some are unlocked in less than 24 but I would be too scared to try worrying I’d put the card into the next lock stage (locked until you send all receipts for all gc loads onto the card to Disney). Guess I’ll have a couple gc and cc’s at the ready. Freaking Disney IT 😒

There is not much Disney can do other then improvements to reduce any errors on their backend systems that may be happening during the Check-out process.

The Fraud detection systems used by the various Payment processors won't be impacted by anything Disney does on their backend systems.

Though I know they want to charge different prices per day but I wish they'd go back to just adding this onto your ticket ahead of time like when g+ first came out.

I want to use LLMP on only one day of my trip, just at one park, and that's not until the fourth day of my trip. I have an AP, so I assume I can't make my selections until I have a theme park reservation for that park. And then when can I make my LLMP reservations? Is it still on the 7th day before my resort check in, even though that day is 11 days before I go to that park and use LLMP for the one and only time? Or do I have to wait until 7 days before I will use LLMP, which is 7-4=3 days before my resort check in?
We had some good to go days, so I don't think it matters and you can do your LLMP 7 days prior to your check in date. All days of your stay should open up. I would make a reservation especially if it is for MK, because you wouldn't want a LLMP and then not be able to get into the park.

I just checked an I was eligible to make LLMP and I have no park reservations. I would go on the app now and get familiar with it, you can get through selecting rides and seeing times before purchase. It's very helpful.

Disney can allow multiple days to be purchased in one purchase and extend the hold time of your items to 15 mins. Problem solved.
No that will not magically pass the Fraud filters for many Payment Processors. Whether you increase the amounts charged or only change from 5 minutes to 15 minutes don't solve the basic problem. It is a complex process that just seems easy to solve.

They would need to allow you to hold something like 7 days of selections for 30 minutes but depending on the number of members in your party that may trigger Dollar limits per transaction.

The reason they have 1 day and 5 minutes is prevent locking up large blocks of their Inventory for transactions that may never complete.

It would help a lot. Instead of 8 transactions in 5 mins the average person would be looking at 1 transaction. 1. Uno. No fraud alert. Change the inventory lock to 10 mins if you’re so scared that 15 will wreck the system. Locking the inventory down is a small price to pay vs ticking off a lot of your customers or- worse for Disney- ticking off payment processors since it’s the banks whose time and resources are spent towards these alerts, not Disney’s.

Did anyone happen to book and use LL single or multipass for Magic Kingdom on the halloween party night between 4 -7 but not actually use their dated ticket or annual pass?

Earilier in this thread someone posted that they attempted to purchase LLMP/SP with just a party ticket and they were not able to do so.
Right, I'm talking about a bit of a workaround. In addition to having the party ticket, also having valid date based tickets or annual passes for that date but not planning on using them that day. Some of our party has date based 3 day tickets + a party ticket. We are planning on going to the party one night and the other 3 parks their other 3 days but would like to use LLMP all 4 days

That won't work. The system knows how many days of park tickets you have. Besides, it would suck if it let you book on a party day, thinking you were using a park ticket, and then you couldn't book LLMPs on a day you were going to legitimately use a park ticket, later in your trip.

I'm almost positive the system won't let you buy LLMPs for 4 days if you have a 3 day ticket.
Right. If it is that specific and I had to I would wait and book our last day (animal kingdom) after we used the multipass on our first day during the party. No more than 3 passes at any time and never more than the number of active ticket days either

But you won't be able to use the LLMPs even if it lets you book them on a party ticket day because you won't be scanning into the park with a park ticket.

I don't think it's checking your ticket when you scan a LL, it's checking for a LL reservation...

It's checking for VALID LL reservations, and they aren't valid if you didn't scan into the park with valid park admission (or enter a different park earlier in the day with a park hopper ticket).
I think you're setting yourself up for issues if you try to skirt the guidelines in this manner.

If it let you buy it, it's a valid LL lol. There's not a valid LL or invalid LL. It's just a LL reservation or nothing

It will not work as you think your workaround should work. You have to have a valid theme park admission. Your Party Ticket is not a valid admission for LLMP / LLSP redemption. So while you may able to purchase them by playing ticket games you will not be able to redeem them.

They closed this workaround with Genie+ back in January for After Hours tickets.

Here is the magic Disney wording: To redeem your selection, you’ll tap in at the Lightning Lane entrance using a MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, Key to the World Card or ticket card that’s linked to your valid theme park admission.

Like I said, we WILL have valid admission for the park on the day as well, we just won't have used the standard admission, just the early admission in the evening before the official party starts. All of the reports I have seen have been people that only had an event ticket and were unable to book LLs. Are you saying there were reports of people with valid multi day tickets as well as the event tickets that were unable to book Lighting lanes? Or that were able to book LLs but were unable to turn them in? Please lead me to the reports if anyone has tried something like this

I'm someone will correct me if my memory isn't recalling correctly but I seem to remember at last year's MNSSHP that they had to scan my ticket for the party when I went to pick up my wrist band. We'd gone earlier on our day tickets but had to prove we had tickets to get our wristbands. Wouldn't that you "technically" scanned in?

Exactly. We will have valid tickets ahead of time to book LLs. And we will have used a valid ticket that lets us in after 4. If we are able to book LLs for after 4, I think they would let us use them
