Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

No, you got it. People hated the park reservation system (that enabled WDW to optimise staffing and consumable levels), but now they are paying TWDC to do the same thing. It's genius.

I am still yet to find a benefit of MPLL over genie plus. The only thing I can think off is you don't need to wake up earlier to buy genie plus, but now you wake up earlier 3-7 days before 😆.

Just booked for my upcoming trip. Everything went smoothly, lots of times available. Started at 7:00 and finished at 7:03. Booked the following for a party of 5:
August 15th: Guardians (did not book LLMP)
17th: Navi, FOTLK, Kali, FOP
18th: Tower of Terror, Slinky, Toy Story, Rise

Booked DHS first. Only going to MK for the Halloween party, so no passes there.

Haven't used it yet, but the ability to pre-book LLs and the ability to select an actual time window (instead of 'next available') seem like improvements to us. We'll see if that's actually the case when we test it out ourselves later this year.

Just booked my selections for MK and have BTMRR for my Tier 1 for 9am window but both my Tier 2 rides are far out (12pm/1pm). I can't seem to modify them to earlier times right now. Is it worth it to check every day until next Thursday which is our park day or just wait the morning of to try to modify them to better times?

I have another senario: I have the UK 14 day ticket with the first portion of my split stay offsite. I know I will not be able to start booking till three days before the start date of my ticket and I think that your allowed to book up to 14 days but what if I wanted to not go to the parks a couple of days for some down time. My park tickets are good for 18 days so am I only allowed to book 14 days worth on the start of my ticket date? Or any 14 days within my 18 day expiration? Hope this makes sense 🤣

I think it’s good. Based on how we tour, I want 20-30m between LL returns. I would say you want to allow 15m to wait in a LL and 5m to ride, and 5-15m to walk to the next ride (depending on how far apart the rides are). If you are able bodied and active, I think you want at least your first 3 rides all starting about 15-20 from each other so that you can quickly tick them off and pick up additional high quality LL returns.
For example, you might want HM at 9:15, Pirates at 9:30, and Tiana at 9:50, on the assumption that you rope drop something quickly, make it to HM around 9:20, to Pirates around 9:45, and then get on Tiana around 10AM… with this touring plan you’d probably be able to get all 3 of those replenished with a Tier 1 ride (especially if you can park hop or will be in the parks late).
One ride has a window of 10:30 to 11:30 and the other is 10:40 to 11:40.

Since they are an hour window we should be fine.

We have a 9am character breakfast at Hollywood and Vine so the 10:30 will be our initial lightening lane.

I am with you and I used it last week. Absolutely no benefit. On our phones just as much, if not more. More stressful and had less options than with Genie+. Really locks you into plans - as far as what parks to start out. The key is to get your first rides as early as possible so you can continue booking. However, there is such little available and you constantly have to refresh and pray something shows up. I am not satisfied with just 3 rides for the price.

I requested and received a refund on LLSP in HS and LLMP in MK.

I approached Guest Services politely, explained that our day had not gone as expected (which was completely true) and was given a refund both times. I had not redeemed any LLs on the days I was requesting the refunds.
Thanks so much for posting this, @Figment Mom. Super helpful info.

it is ridiculous. I am really concerned this will make our plans even less flexible

I really only want one LLMP, for MK. The main purpose is to get Tiana for the grandkids. Personally, I don't think you need the mp for any park except DHS. If Tiana becomes a standby, I'll not even get the mp. That said, our MK day is day #2, and I'm fully prepared for there to be no availability. Would it be better to get the mp, grab another Tier 1 attraction and hope you can modify if Tiana pops up or do nothing until I happen to see a Tiana pop up before purchasing the pass? We are going to the Halloween party and I would love for Tiana to be standby, but not holding my breath.
Look on your booking day but don’t buy it if it’s not available. Odds of scoring Tiana on a midday drop are very low.

Tiana is supposed to be standby during the party. However, I would still try for the VQ during the normal day due to it’s unreliability.

Personally I would just wait until day of or even after you tap into BTMRR. Once you have done that decent chance you could change at least one of the Tier 2s for a third Tier 1 (after you booked a second to replace the one already redeemed). May not get Tiana's unless checking often that day but should be SM and JC available that early in the day.

Very simple answer. You can book for the total number of valid admission days up to 14 days.

Guests with date-based theme park tickets (which require the Guest to choose a start date at the time of purchase) can purchase 3 days before the first day of their ticket, for the total number of valid admission days on their ticket.

It will not move to a Standby queue until the ride reliability improves...

You don't need a Tier 1 to swap but you should purchase your LLMP before your MK day to save time when you try to modify one of your LLMP selections to Tiana. An attraction modification is faster then going through the entire selection and purchase process all at 1 time. Disney has been adding additional availability Tiana for "day of" selection so check back before 7 AM on your MK day.

If you wait until 7 AM on your MK day to try to purchase a LLMP and include Tiana, you may miss the very limited window to grab one.

We are going to the Halloween party and I would love for Tiana to be standby, but not holding my breath.
Again it will not move to a Standby queue until the ride reliability improves... When are you going to the MNSSHP?

Tiana and Tron are both standby during the party but not during regular park hours.

We will not know if Tiana actually will be open for the first party night August 9th. Tiana has been going down almost daily.

I understand that what I'm talking about is I want to book my 13th and 14th day of my admission on my 17th and 18th day of my trip. Since book 14 days over a span of 18 days, I'm wondering how I would do my last 2 days of my ticket when it falls outside the 14 day

But don't you have to be in the US or Canada before you can do anything?

Ahh @babydoll65 will be in the US in an offsite stay for their initial purchase window.

No you don't have to be in the US to make your LLMP / LLSP selections and purchases. Did you miss the discussion earlier in the thread concerning a workaround as discussed by @andrewilley from the UK?
