That was our plan and we were there opening day so I could try it out for others. The goal was to see how it could work with some rides and park hopping.Thank you. This is the first time I hear about this, and that is valuable. So a key could be to book any throw away tier 2 ride at a park that you can tap into and enjoy real quick right at park opening, and then swap the second tier 2 or a tier 1. If it still works.
I booked MMRR as my group 1 and just chose two others at HS so I had three reserved....got to park during extra magic hours and could do both TSM and SDD standby and made it to MMRR (which started at 9:05 am) by 9:20 am.
As soon as we did, I was able to get Frozen but it was for later that night...6:35 pm....and as soon as I did, I saw that Spaceship Earth had a 10:30 time, and Soarin had 11:00 am time, so I changed my two HS group 2 to those....
We were thrilled with the way that it worked...and the fact that you can overlap times, and cluster was nice....Once we got to Epcot, we did both Spaceship Earth and Soarin using the pass, and then booked Living with the Land and Seas of Nemo to be close to our Frozen time for later that night. We did Figment standby and headed back to Caribbean Beach for some afternoon pool time.
Later that night, had we wanted to hop to MK, after doing Frozen, we could have gotten a few rides there too! So, IMO, it is a great improvement over Genie plus.
Now, I will add that Remy never showed up to grab later at any point in the day, so if that is a must do, I would have an Epcot day where you choose that as a Group 1....
