Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Thanks for posting this. Is it possible to split up the LL’s like you did in the park with MMRR and RnRC when you do the prebooking or can you only do that once you start your replacements in the park?
Not sure what you are asking here but I will take a guess?

For speed and accuracy it is best to book the same LLMP Groups for your Group for pre-purchase and then Modify your selections for your sub group members for other experiences. You can make these changes all as you are booking your initial advanced selections.

I'm having a little trouble interpreting the data, since I've not spent a lot of time on Thrill Data. Looking at today only, it would appear that Tiana's had some available until just a short time ago. Could that be correct? Also, when hovering over a particular data point (blue dot), does the first value, "Time", refer to the time the ride was checked by the Thrill Data algorithm? TIA
It looks to me that Tiana had sporadic LL availability during the day, but not much. Compare its graph to that of Mad Tea Party that showed availability all day long with the time merely getting later as the day went along. I have noticed some things about the Thrill-data graphs that seem inconsistent, but perhaps it's just part of the learning curve for a new system. I agree that "Time" is the time the algorithm was looking for a LL reservation; at that time, it found the "Return Time."

I can't answer from experience (I haven't been booking this past week), but here is what the Disneyworld website says:
  1. When purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Passes for your travel party, you’ll be prompted to select up to 3 multi pass attractions or experiences—which must be the same for each member of your travel party at that time.
  2. After completing your purchase, you can modify the selected experiences and arrival windows for some members of your travel party, subject to availability.
(The website doesn't have the numbering.) I read that as meaning you don't have to wait until day-of to split up your party, but you do have to wait until after you complete your purchase.

If someone has actual experience, please feel free to explain how it worked for you.

On further reflection, maybe the availability for Tiana's wasn't so sporadic. They could be drops in there. But for much of the day, nothing was available.

I will try to explain a bit better. When I am doing my pre-booking for HS, I plan to choose Slinky as our Tier 1 for all of us, even though I cannot ride it. Will I need to tap into that ride in order to make another selection later? (assuming our SD time will be for later in the day) And if after we have done one of our Tier 2’s, I want to get a LL for RnRC for 2 of us and, say Muppets for my DGD and myself, does our eligibility for making another LL while in the park apply to us as a group or as individuals? Assuming RnRC will be a later time than Muppets, do I have to wait until both rides have been ridden? As I type this, I am getting more confused!! Sorry!! Bottom line: if I modify, either ahead of time, or while in the park, to different attractions for different members of our group, when exactly does the eligibility to make a new selection happen? Do all 4 of us have to have ridden our rides or is it individually? With FP, I just tapped into the ones I didn’t ride to make it easier. Maybe I will just do that again. But at some point my DH and DD will want to ride RnRC and my DGD and I will go to Muppets. Maybe they can do single rider and we will do stand by, just as we would do if there was no such thing as LLMP!

Make all your pre-arrival LLMP selections and then you can modify any individuals or sub-group to have a different experience with the "Modify" function or drop that experience well before you park visit. Note this is the easiest method.

If you don't want to bother before your Park visit day. The first step on your park visit is you need to tap into the Park. Then either you wait for your first LLMP experience to expire or you can cancel it without riding and let another guest have a available LLMP for SD. So you can tap in to SD, cancel it for some members of your group or use the "Modify" function to select a different experience for some members of your group.

Just keep in mind that if you want to book another experience at the same time you just need a open slot in your rolling 3 LLMP total for all members of your group.

Does this make sense so far?

With FP, I just tapped into the ones I didn’t ride to make it easier. Maybe I will just do that again. But at some point my DH and DD will want to ride RnRC and my DGD and I will go to Muppets. Maybe they can do single rider and we will do stand by, just as we would do if there was no such thing as LLMP!
If there are still available LLMP experiences you are able to make your next reservations for sub groups. The example would be your DH and DD want RnRC and you and GD want Muppets. Muppets should be easier to get vs RnRC as a LLMP day of experience.

Do all 4 of us have to have ridden our rides or is it individually?
No it is tracked on an individual basis since you pay for LLMP on an individual basis. Just keep in mind that if you want to book another experience at the same time you just need a open slot in your rolling 3 LLMP total for all members of your group.

Has anyone confirmed whether or not there is a grace period for tapping in at an attraction for either LLMP or LLSP? Is it 5 minutes before and 15 minutes after like it was in the old days of FP+?
Pretty sure it's 15 minute grace period. One member of our party had to cut it close and was still let in for TSMM 12 minutes past the window.

Once you purchase SDD for the whole group, just go in and select modify. Search for RnRC and select change to this time, (don't worry, there's a whole confirmation process. It won't confirm yet) then it will open up a new "schedule" for you to confirm. You will then be able to "modify" the time on RnRC, so find the same time that the rest of your group got Slinky. Then scroll all the way to the bottom where it shows your party. Click everyone else OFF this RnRC reservation except yourself. Then make sure everything looks correct and confirm your new selection. You should now show two LLs in your list. You for RnRC and your group for SDD. Now you can go back into the group LL and modify again, repeating the process for Muppets for the other person. I recommend doing it as soon after you book as possible so you can get similar return times across the board so you will all be eligible to choose your next ride all together. I don't think you'll have trouble syncing Muppets, but RnRC was sold out before park open on Saturday, so if you wait to modify once in the park you may be out of luck for that one. If you modify on your selection day, there should be availability.

My question is what if I am not staying onsite? For a 5-day trip with 5-park pass reservations already made, do I need to wake up at 7am each day (just shifted to 3 days before my trip on a rolling basis) to buy LLMP or only once?

You said it is based on the limits of my AP level. So, in my case I have a Sorcerer Pass with 5 park passes allowed. If I've already made park pass reservations for 5-days in a row, lets pretend as an example my dates are August 1st - 5th. I am staying offsite at Orlando World Center Marriott (just using this as a hypothetical since this hotel does not qualify for the 7-day onsite booking).

3-days before my trip, on Monday 7/29/24 - can I purchase LLMP for August 1st - 5th as I have park reservations for each day?

Or, do I need to wake up at 7am on 7/29/24 to purchase for 8/1/24. Then on 7/30/24 wake up at 7am to purchase for 8/2/24, then on 7/31/24 wake up at 7am to purchase for 8/3/24 and so on?

Yes (1) early day on Monday 7/29 and you are able to book for your 5 days based on you having a Sorcerer Pass (AP) with 5 park passes allowed.

Just a reminder you don't need to purchase LLMP / LLSP for every day. It is your choice.

Dave

I just tested this theory for August 1st - 3rd and this does not appear to work correctly, unless I am doing something wrong?

I am an AP with a Sorcerer Pass, I do not have a hotel stay, and I have Park Pass reservations for August 1st, 2nd and 3rd (see screenshot).

Screenshot 2024-07-29 at 7.16.21 AM.png

The above screenshot is from the website because on the app it does not actually show who has the Park Pass, it just shows it is for 1 guest under Future Plans.

In the MDE App, when I go to buy LLMP for August 1st, it lets me do so with no issue because that is 3 days from now:

However, when I try to buy LLMP on August 2nd and August 3rd, I get an error saying I need to wait until July 30th and 31st respectively to purchase.

If there is something I am doing wrong - please help! However, it seems like for me to purchase LLMP for these 3 days - I need to wake up early at 7am every day to purchase it at the earliest time possible.

Good report. I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I think you are the first one on this thread to report how it actually works in practice. If someone can point out a way for you to book today, I imagine they will explain how.

Thank you for posting this. I’m also an AP and was hoping we could make length of park reservation plans. It’s very disappointing if we have to go day by day unless we are onsite.

During rope drop we walked on to RotR and then walked onto MFSM 2x, then hit ToT even though we had it booked as a LL since RnRC was offline. (RnRC was sold out before park open, and I did not bother refreshing through the day.) A smaller group did AliensSS 2x instead of Tot.
Thank you for your report. It's nice to hear some success stories.

May I ask when you arrived at HS to rope drop RotR? My son wants to go on it again, but I really don't want to pay $22/person to not wait in a huge line.

I watched Molly from Mammoth Club's in-depth video yesterday and she mentioned that APs will need to book 3 days in advance every day. Unfortunately I think your experience proves she was correct in that. I don't understand why they can't at least modify their system to recognize you have park pass reservations and let you book for those 5 days. I'm interested to see what that means for availability of attractions for AP holders staying offsite.

We arrived at the entry at about 7:40, so we're near the front if the initial crowd to be let in.

Have to say I was a little nervous yesterday at 7am booking my lightning lanes for my upcoming trip. We are going on a split stay and were able to book 7 days out for all of our park days.
But everything worked out very well and the interface was easy to use. I was able to get everything I was hoping for including Tianas, Remys, & Slingy for my Tier 1 attractions, and all the single pass attractions I wanted were also available.
Just hoping there will be decent availability during the park days when we go to book the additional lighting lanes after we ride out first ride. I always had pretty good luck with Genie plus and I am hoping multipass is the same.
Now I just need to keep my fingers crossed that the tropical depression doesn't head for central Florida this weekend and i will be all set.

Where can I find what rides are in which tiers before buying? I was looking around Disneys site but couldn’t find it

If you click on "attractions and experiences" on Disney's main LL page, it'll take you to the breakdown for each individual park.

Correct.

You aren’t doing anything wrong. The website says 3 days, not length of AP reservation entitlements. To maximize your chances of good LLs that will mean booking at 7am each day for the length of your trip.

Your experience is how Disney said it would work for off-site APs, 3 days out from park visit.
