Plan Ahead with Lightning Lane Entry at Walt Disney World Starting July 24

Just to confirm, for those of us that need to make park reservations, we can buy LLMP for the park that we don’t have reservations?
We want to RD AK at 7:30AM then hop over to MK and use LLMP there. Is that possible?

Yes, selected everything just like the days that did work and just noticed afterwards that I had lost 3 of them on for the last 3 days.
I have some “vintage”undated tickets. I know they’ll need reservations when I eventually use them. Was hoping I could see some of the goings on with LLMP LLSP with just them in MDE, but no go.

Here's how the new system worked for me:
On the 24th I bought LLMPs for 7 people for the 25th and booked our first three rides at HS. Millennium Falcon was our Tier 1 choice. Toy Story and Star Tours were the other two. We ended up doing MF first and immediately booked RnR Coaster for two of the adults and Mickey & Minnie's Railway for the other 5 of us. After Toy Story we booked Twilight Zone for 2 and Slinky Dog Dash for 5. We also booked B & the Beast's 12:30 show (not at all necessary, but used it just because we had it) and our final booking was for Alien Swirling Saucers. We could have booked Frozen at any time but didn't because we walked into the 9:30 am show before our MF booking. Some of our rides were available to book a second time during the day, including MF, but we chose not to. Overall I found that it was very worth it - boy was it HOT that day! - and if we didn't have three kids with us I can imagine that the adults would have used it on some rides more than once (at least MF, since that kept showing).

I’ll have a 7 day resort stay but a 4 day ticket. It’ll be the Florida resident ticket so I haven’t bought it yet I’m not sure if it makes you pick a day to start it or not. I haven’t bought one of these in a long time I’ve been an annual passholder the last couple years. When the window opens will it go off the first day I’ll be going into the park or from my first night on property?

Also what’s a better order for the parks, doing Epcot for the first day or animal kingdom? We will be doing magic kingdom twice but at the end of the trip

I believe the Florida Resident Discover Disney Ticket does not require a start date, but does require you to make park reservations. Your eligibility date to buy LLMP/LLSP(s) will be seven days before your resort check-in date.

I have not bought a Discover Disney ticket, but have read the terms.

Thanks! I saw that ticket but it ends in September and I’m going in November so I have to wait and see what the next one is

Thank you for your report! I truly appreciate the time that you and others have taken to help out the rest of us.

You used Millennium Falcon as your prebooked tier 1, and note the it was available to book a second time. Are you only noting that it was available during the day or are you saying it was available to YOU to book a 2nd time? I was under the impression you can only book a ride once.

You can see what LLSPs are fully booked for future dates even though you cannot yet buy them for that date and you do not see what times are available. However, you cannot check what LLMP attraction availability is like unless you can buy it.*

In MDE, choose one of the Purchase Lightning Lane options (they appear on different screens). It will have you choose a date. Choose a park. It will show you the prices for LLMP and LLSP in that park on that date, unless one or more of them is sold out. If it is sold out, it will say "Currently Unavailable." To this point, it hasn't asked you who you are booking for and hasn't checked to see if you have a ticket and are eligible to buy. It does that on the next screen.

Don't feel so stupid. Several pages back in this thread, I was the one insisting I couldn't see what LLSPs were sold out on future dates.

*- as far as I know. Maybe there is a way to see LLMP availability for future dates that I haven't learned about yet.
i THINK if im interpreting it right, i can now see on thrill data which are open-this seems new on their website https://www.thrill-data.com/lightning-lane

It is definitely HOT here now! Curious to know if you actually tried booking the 2nd ride or only saw that it was still available. I thought there were no re-rides with LLMP, so I haven't tried. We are taking a rest day today, but may try booking a re-ride tomorrow to see if it will let me. Has anyone confirmed if once you tap into your first ride if it will let you modify a Tier 2 to a Tier 1? I have been reluctant to experiment since I have such a huge group and working with overlapping return times to get us all on rides, so don't want to mess up existing plans...

Quick data report from yesterday at Hollywood Studios (level 5 crowds reported):

Quick recap, we're a group if 21, so LL pulls have been for a big group & we're not super efficient, so consider this a worst case scenario. 😉

During rope drop we walked on to RotR and then walked onto MFSM 2x, then hit ToT even though we had it booked as a LL since RnRC was offline. (RnRC was sold out before park open, and I did not bother refreshing through the day.) A smaller group did AliensSS 2x instead of Tot.

We tapped into our first prebooked LL for TSMM at 10:45am and got MMRR for 6:30pm, although I could have chosen a return time as early as 4:30pm.

Next tapped into prebooked ToT at 11:45am and pulled another MFSM for 4:45pm (our group really enjoyed this ride!)

Tapped into prebooked Slinky at 12:30pm and pulled LL for Star Tours at 5:30pm. (Could have had almost immediate return for that, so it was nice e being able to push out return times, unlike having to babysit the return times like on G+)

After Slinky we cooled off at Docking Bay 7 lunch then went back to resort for a few hours before we melted.

Everyone returned refreshed around 5:20 & we rode MFSR, Star Tours, MMRR all in quick succession (yay for overlapping return times). Then we grabbed dinner at Backlot as a rain shower hit. At 8pm, half of us went back to RotR and half to TSMM (both had posted 35 minute waits and both ended up as walk-on.) Both groups made it to Fantasmic! and then to Oga's Cantina for 9:55pm ADR. The Skyliner had stopped running by the time we were done, but when we arrived at the bus station with 22 people, the attendant commandeered us our own private bus back to our resort! I guess that's one perk of being a big group.

Hope this info helps anyone here soon with planning your LL pulls.

It was offering me the chance to book again, something I didn't expect. I was about to book it again but then changed my mind because everyone was getting cranky with the heat. I'm pretty confident I could have done so.

It didn't seem to have any tiers noted after we did our first ride.
We also found that like G+, if you checked often enough you could find open times that weren't there earlier. However, RnR Coaster and Twilight Zone ToT seemed to be booked and stay booked during evening hours, which makes sense for an older demographic.

Thanks for the info. I'm not too optimistic for refreshing for a group of 20 😅, but we love refreshing when we're just our immediate 4. The original FP+ was our jam! If rerides are possible that would make refreshing a fun game-changer. I'll try booking a reride tomorrow...

Sorry, I am sure if this has been answered as I haven’t read through all the pages but if I am staying on site at my 7 day mark I can book for any of my days first correct? I don’t have to do my days in order. Will probably buy LL for all parks, so if day 3 is studios I can purchase LL for the studios and the backtrack to day1 if I want, correct?

Yes

We did Hollywood studios this morning and we’re staying onsite. We had Slinky, Tower of Terror, and Alien Saucers with the multipass and also paid for Rise of the Resistance. We rode Runaway Railway and Toy Story Mania during early entry. We then rode Slinky standby with a 20 minute wait. Used our Alien Saucer pass and booked Millennium Falcon for 12:10. We didn’t book anything else after that because we had basically ridden everything we wanted and weren’t coming back after an afternoon nap. It was 100% worth it to buy multipass today

The app shows availability and makes it seem like you can book again, which surprised me as well. But when I tried, it let me click on the time but then on the next page where you select which people, our names were greyed out and it said I had already rode it with LL that day. So booking the same ride multiple times aren't actually possible, it just looks that way and can be kind of deceiving. Got me excited for a while though when I first saw it :rotfl:
