I'd like to get Len Testa's take on how this will affect their stuff at TP.
I'm in the same boat. Park days the 23rd and 25th. I am onsite. So I guess expecting to use genie+ 23rd and new system the 25th. But with the 7 day window, won't I be able to make those the 18th? Or for you the 17th, for the 24th?I think we'll all figure it out together.
Right now I'm expecting to use regular G+ through the 23rd, then wake up on the 24th and purchase/reserve 3 LL per day for the rest of our trip.
And ride out the glitches with everyone else those first few days.
I'm trying to remember that I'm still at Disney no matter what. I'm definitely slightly stressed, though. I was super comfortable with G+.
I'll be carefully reading to see if we get any more details between now and then.
Me too….I'm gonna miss super stacking for evening rides using Genie+. But I do love being able to guarantee certain rides, and select the times in advance. Especially if it's coasters at night
I read that everything will start on the 24th. So, no 7 day window before that.I'm in the same boat. Park days the 23rd and 25th. I am onsite. I have no problem getting up early to book the passes. I remember booking at 1 minute past midnight so this will be fine for me.I'll get up at 4:00am 7 days before the trip if it stops me from getting up 7:00am everyday of my vacation lol
I don't know. It will probably be like the old fast pass system. Everyone up the same time, getting hard to get ones, modifying times before the trip etc etc
Well see
It isn't. See post #225 above. That can't be true! They want everyone to stay on site, including us lowly AP holders.
I've probably had 40 park days at MK over the past decade. Have rode Jungle Cruise once. Obviously, I agree with you.If back in 201X when FP+ started, you would have told me Jungle Cruise would be a Tier 1, I would not have believed you.
And yet, here we are.
I wonder. I was able to do that in the pre-booking FP days. I think I scheduled my first one for 3:15-4:15, knowing there was a grace period.I'm also wondering if people with special event tickets (MNSSHP) will be able to purchase the service and secure options for the 4-6 window.
Because TOT and TSMM are in the second tier, you would still be able to do that in advance.I was at HS a few weeks ago and my evening stack was Slinky, ToT, Toy Story Mania and Runaway Railway (would've done RNRC if it wasn't closed). I do agree that for higher crowd times, a stack would be very difficult. I also struggle to spend more than a few hours at HS as it's still a half day park at most for me so I enjoyed having a stack going in.
Just read Tom Bricker’s article, and it sounds like all pre booked passes will need to be in the same park. Now I don’t know which park to do on our arrival half day. (A Thursday afternoon in late August)We never park hopped in the FP+ days. Could you combine two Tier 1 reservations from multiple parks?
I feel for you. July 24 could be a bit rough with so many people booking all at once: everyone booking for July24, and many booking for July 28, 29, etc.I’m excited about not having to get up at 7am during my vacation, as long as there is availability for short stays (this was a huge issue with FP+, but I’m going to assume that since this is a paid service, it will be OK).
“These changes will go into effect on July 24, 2024.”
We’re arriving July 25, so hopefullythey open the window 7 days before and not on July 24th.
EDIT: oh no, it looks like July 24 is the first day to make Reservations, so no onsite advantage for those arriving the first few days.
With Genie+, return times for Jungle Cruise moved out faster than any other attraction. So, the demand indicates that this should be a tier 1.If back in 201X when FP+ started, you would have told me Jungle Cruise would be a Tier 1, I would not have believed you.
And yet, here we are.
Totally agree!! We got so much done with Genie+ with no waits. We did not have the same experience with the Fastpass systems.Honestly this is the worst news we got for our August trip. We HATED having to choose plans in advance and loved doing it day of. The roll out of Genie+ was a really positive change for us. I see I am the minority here but we absolutely LOVED it. It made the parks far more enjoyable for us. More rides, less waits. It was the first time, especially in MK, we were able to do everything we wanted to with almost no wait. Last year we hit literally every attraction that offered LL, using LL, and never waited for more than 10 minutes, if that. We loved the small breaks, using that 2 hours in between the next selection if there was a gap to eat or do character meets. Last year and the year prior, using Genie+, felt like our first pleasant trip. It was not only a few rides but 95-100% of them. I am definitely sad for this change. I do not like the idea of selecting 3 rides in advance when I don't know what that day will bring, but also now having to because it may sell out.![]()
