Ok,

Here are the rules. You have $2,000.00

You must choose a resort, length of stay, ticket package (or not), dining (or not). You must use rack rates. I am curious to see all of the different options. There is no overall goal, just what would you do with a $2,000.00 Budget. You can use any time of the year you want. Using Disney website. Why $2,000 ? According to a report one of my students did, this is the average amount spent by an American "couple" on a vacation. Interesting.

Here's Mine:

4 nights, 5 days

Leaves $400 for food/other.

well I just happened to book our trip and it came to almost exactly $2,000 ($1950). It's for 2 adults, 2 children:

5 nts. AoA Nemo suite
4 day base passes
trip insurance

Of course if that's our total budget then it leaves us no $$ for food or flights, lol.

I'm a little over the $2,000 but not by much and I'd pick to go at the end of January so there would probably be FD or a RO that would bring me under $2,000...but, assuming no discount and I only had $2,000 I'd do the following:

End of January
5 nights
POFQ - King bed
4 day of park tickets (no hopper)
DDP

Total: $2,172.34

Again, if history is any indication there would probably be FD and my total would come down to about $1,800!! If not I'd search under couch cushions and under car seats until I found the $172.34!!

Also, I didn't include travel costs to and from Disney so my budget is still kind of cheating

So, we don't need to include transportation in that $2k? If not, then that is great, bc airfare would take a big chunk of that! Also, is this $2k out own money or did we win it in Disney gift cards? That factor would actually affect how I spend that money. Am I thinking too much about this?
