A little history:

DF and I are both Cast Members, we met on Main Street USA where we were both working in Merchandise. For reasons that are more apparent if you have met us personally, everyone we worked with thought we would be a great couple. Three weeks after I started working in the area we still had never seen each other. So DF and a girl we worked with came up with a brilliant plan for us to meet, or rather, a "brilliant" plan for him to check me out unnoticed and see if he was interested. They conspired to get me to walk out of the front of the firehouse, where I was working at the time and give directions so that he could check me out from across the street. Unfortunately, the girl who was supposed to act like a lost tourist and get me to move out of the store botched it and ended up blurting out "There's this guy across the street who wants to check you out, can you stand outside for a second?" Not really knowing how else to react I stepped outside and waved. DF waved back and, realizing he was busted, came over and introduced himself.

The Proposal:

DF proposed on our 2 year anniversary after dinner @ the Gaylord Palms. I was not expecting anything that day so I was completely surprised. And not only had DF totally surprised me, he had spoken with my parents and they sent him the center diamond for my e-ring which was used in e-rings for my mom and grandma and had actually come from a necklace that belonged to my great-grandma!

The Wedding:

Since DF and I are both Disney Lifers we knew that a DFTW was what we wanted, we had already been to one DFTW @ the Living Seas, and we actually attended one the weekend we got engaged @ the Grand Floridian. We wanted something different, and originally planned to use the Adventurers Club. Unfortunately we had to change do to space limitations, but as soon as we saw the CG we fell completely in love with it! The change of venue let us change our theme completely and we are now centering everything around the song "When you wish upon a star". Even though we have both moved on to other jobs with Disney we are still naming our tables after the shops on Main street remembering where we met, and we are thrilled that we will actually be able to see the place we met from both the ceremony and the reception location!

P.s. Will add pictures once my post count is high enough!

Congrats fellow cast member! Can't wait to hear your plans :)

I need to quit my job and move to work at WDW. I think I would be a much happier person then!

Congratulations - what a lovely story!:cloud9:

How wonderful that your e-ring is also an heirloom that is so touching!

California Grill will be wonderful, lucky you! I do like your theme and I can't wait to see what you do with it :)

Love the idea for your table names!

Just wondering . . . you worked on Main St. and are a Plaid Princess - did you give the "Keys to the Kingdom" tours? DF & I took one of those ~ 2 years ago and it was great!

Looking forward to hearing more of your plans! popcorn::

lol, no... the Plaid in my name is in reference to the Plaid Skirts that Merchandise Hostesses wear.

What a great story!! And how fabulous that you both still work for Disney! I LOVE CG, the food is just amazing! :lovestruc I can't wait to read more!

I just had my hair trial with Patricia Ljune and I am so excited! Thanks to everyone here who recommended her! My air turned out great, I wanted sort of a modern twist on 1940's hair rolls and Patricia worked it out perfectly! I'll post pictures as soon as get home (I'm currently in Austin TX to watch some UT Basketball :cheer2: )!

:dance3:

What a great story you have! Looking forward to keeping up with your plans.

Oh, add me to the list of those who would love to work for the mouse. Its my fantasy job. I keep trying to convince DF that we need to relocate to FL - I'm so sick of being cold - and that I will go work for Disney (dancing in a show would be my dream). He's not buying it! :confused3 A girl can dream, right? We probably wouldn't be Disney lovers if we didn't believe that... :wizard:

Aww yay another May bride!!!! Your story is so stinking cute!!!! I love it!! Can't wait to see more of your details, everything sound's great so far :)
