My dd's bday is in August and we'd like to take her to HP. We celebrated my ds's bday in May at WDW so my dd keeps asking where we'll take her for her bday-LOL! I haven't been to HP since I was a kid and I read that you can go late one day and buy your tickets and then go the next day for a full day. Now I need to find us a cheap, clean place to stay that's near HP. If you can recommend a place I'd appreciate it! TIA!

We just stayed at the White Rose motel in Hershey. I found it through these boards. It was very clean, owned by a family who were super nice. Their pool was also very clean. It was about a five minute drive to the park.

We also did the night before preview, then went the next day. Be sure to tell them you paid for parking the night before and keep the stub and then you won't have to pay to park twice.

Have fun, we had a great time!!

I've stayed at the Country Inn and Suites in East Harrisburg. Very nice and convenient to the park. You don't get caught in the main traffic either.

Thanks for the tips! I have a discount code to get $10.00 off if I purchase the tickets online, I'm not sure if we can do the preview night then...any idea? Alos where didi you book hte White Rose Motel through?

Another vote for The White Rose Motel. We went in 2004! Very cute nice little motel. We reserved our room on their website.

This is going back many years, but we used to stay at a place called The Village Motel. It was a bit of a dive, but family-owned and the owners were super nice. They also recommended one of our favorite restaurants of all times which is just down the road - The Friendly Rising Sun Restaurant. Great country cooking at unbelievable prices. They were definitely a restaurant for the community, not for the tourists. Then, stop at Turkey Hill for iced tea and ice cream.

I may have to go to Hershey for vacation soon rather than WDW!

I just checked out White Rose's site...boy they're expensive this year. Prices are 6/17/06 to 9/3/06 $109-$136!!!! I have AAA so I'll have to call and see if I can get it cheaper!
