So heading down next summer and we are going to stay a few days before the cruise anyone have places they would stay at again? we need a bigger space then just a hotel room. So some sorta condo we have 4 adults and 2 kids. Figured an airbnb might be better then a hotel site. Thanks for any info.

We have stayed at the Hampton Inn (cheap, close to beach, good breakfast). Next time we are staying at the Holiday Inn Beach resort because it sounds like more fun (nice pool, etc) and we have a large party so we can get an apartment.
Lots of folks stay at the Country Inn & Suites and Residence Inns (I think) at the port for the convenience. I used to frequent cocoa Beach so I like taking a run on the beach the day before we embark. Hope you get some more responses.

thanks i did notice that holiday in and i think that is a great option the only thing i saw that i read some reviews that they harass you about buying a time share.....not sure if they were on free trips but i wondered about that...

The Cocoa Beach area is just a few miles away from the port. Look for hotels, plenty of options.

We were wondering the same thing. We just need one night before the cruise to make sure we get there on time! Are there rental cars places near Port Canaveral??

Use one of the many transportation companies to take you to Cocoa Beach. Stay overnight and use the hotel shuttle service to take you to the port.

image.png This was still under construction a few months ago but should be open soon. It may fit your needs. It is the closest hotel to the port. It's about 1/2 mile from the exit.

Yes, we were going to rent a car at the Airport and return it at the port :)

We stayed at the Residence Inn and there is a Hertz right there basically in the parking lot. Hertz even has a shuttle to bring you to the port that was great.

If we stay an extra nite after the cruise at Cocoa Beach, will the transportation still take you back to the airport? We are thinking we will just pay the $70 each for the RT instead of renting a car.

Disney transportation only runs on ship days. But there are plenty of other shuttle companies (that cost much less)

and for OP: http://www.cocoabeachvillas.com/ we rented 3 of the 4 villas for wedding guests. Very happy; very clean and right on the beach.

And the Homewood Suites is open according to other posts here (a little earlier than expected ... it may be a "soft opening")

We stayed at Country Inn and suites. It was nice, clean, and included breakfast and shuttle. I have no complaints. Breakfast was good and the shuttle left early so that was great. Only a 5 min ride to port.

Condo wise I believe there are 2 good options but I haven't personally stayed at either one. There is a Holiday Inn Resort right by the port (was once called the Ron Jon Resort) as well The Resort on Cocoa beach gets good reviews and is a good deal. The Residence Inn while not on the beach does have 2 room suites with full kitchen, sitting room and 2 separate bathrooms and bedrooms for around $200 night, breakfast included and a shuttle to the port for a few extra bucks.

Do you know if you can leave your car Residence Inn for the week? Thx!

Did your whole family take the shuttle to the port? Any crowding issues? We are staying at Residence pre and post cruise, so I've been wondering about this. Thanks!

There were four of us in the party and we were all able to go into the shuttle. There was one other family on the shuttle with us. They run a couple on port days so you shouldn't have a problem. The Residence Inn was great!
