What are some good places for adults to hang out/chill out/read a book on Sea Days on the Magic (no verandah stateroom) that are not too cold (think, Canada in October) but still have a nice relaxing view of the sea? Trying to imagine options for a NY-Canada cruise Day at Sea!

Well, the only interior spaces you can see out would be in O'Gill's (there's about 4 tables by the portholes there), Cove Cafe (not right next to the outside, but viewable, Cabanas has tables available on the starboard side after lunch service (around 2:00). There also a few chairs in the atrium on decks 4, 5 & 6, but they go fast.

Cove Cafe is the first that comes to mind. Are you going in 2016? Please post a trip report because we're going in 2017 and I'm eager to hear how it goes. Seems like being on the top deck during the Statue of Liberty is the best place to view her. Keys has nice big portholes too that you can sit next to if recall

We are on the 2016 Canada cruise also. We did the same cruise in 2012 but in early September and it was warm (except for the hurricane we had to skirt!). I'm having similar thoughts about what to do on sea days if it's too cool to sit on deck or on our veranda. I'm going to bring warm clothes and hope for the best.

also sorry to hijack but does anyone know if the cruise the OP is on features the Halloween on the High Seas theme?

selfishly I'm curious if that will give an indication if my 9/27/17 cruise is Halloween on the High Seas, crossing my fingers but going to be realistic

The Panorama Lounge has tables along the windows, too.

Do you mean Promenade Lounge? Yes, there are small tables next to the windows on the port side there, but I don't know that I'd call that area "quiet". There's usually a lot of family/kid activities that happen in the lounge, and it's the only way to get from the atrium to the aft elevators, so there does tend to be a lot of traffic there.

Based on what I read on another site the Halloween sailings start:

Magic - October 2nd
Dream - September 2nd
Fantasy - September 3rd

Thanks Kathi - that sounds similar to what I read too. I wonder why they start earlier on the bigger ships. Well I'll cross my fingers our 9/27/17 gets in the mix for it. Have fun! Do a trip report, I am eager to learn more about the Canada one.

Usually the Magic isn't back from her European season until the beginning of October. And the Wonder typically from her Alaska season.
