We get in to Miami super early in the morning and was wondering if there's anything to eat near the Port of Miami while we await our boarding time.

I know there are places to eat in downtown Miami, but then we would have to take a cab from the airport to Downtown, then another cab to the port. Is this worth it to get a decent meal?

thanks!

actually your best bet might be to eat in the airport!

there is a good Cuban place in the airport and you'll see a BUNCH of airport and airline workers eating there any morning

La Carreta is in Concourse D http://lacarreta.com/

stake out a table have a Cuban breakfast and sip a couple of Cuban coffees - which will get you fully wired for your trip - a great way to get some Miami flavor on your qwik pass thru

this way you only take one taxi to the port

have you looked at a map to see the local geography? The port is downtown ..... right outside the port is BAYSIDE and there are a bunch of places to eat there. Breakfast? I'm sure someplace is open, and you can sit outside and soak up the view for a while. You'd then be still needing two taxi ... one to Bayside then a short hop into the port - unless you want to walk into the port, which I don't recommend, but people have done it . . . less than a mile, over a bridge.

thanks for the info! I was thinking about eating breakfast in downtown, riding the Metromover around and then finding our way into the port - as another option.
