We are taking our first trip to VB in May, and we are looking for good places to eat off property that are reasonably priced. I would appreciate recommendations on any type of food, but we definitely would like to eat at a good seafood place at least once. We need some place that is kid friendly. My DD is six years old, but she likes most types of food. Your input will be appreciated!!

Look into Captain Hiraims. I think that is how you spell it. Its not far north of the resort and on the water. Fun atmosphere, live band depends on what you are looking for though.

Don't miss Squid Lips - great place with entertainment every night - Wednesday and Thursday Trilogy is there - they play Jimmy Buffet type music. They have a happy hour and an early bird. It's down the road from Capt. Hiram's.:lmao: :dance3: We were there last week.

Hello. We just got back from VB. The place is beautiful.

The places we ate offsite that I'd recommend are Squid Lips and Hula Grill - both had great food and quick service. Squid Lips has live music and Hula Grill is a quiet family atmoshphere.

I wouldn't recommend Captain Hirams - we waited over an hour for a table and another for the food - which wasn't anything special. They said it was unusual but to us they just seemed slow. There weren't that many people waiting. Maybe it was the 3 poker tables they had going, or the unfriendly hostesses, but we didn't get a positive feeling there.

Hope you have fun! We enjoyed VB immensely.

Ozzies Crabhouse is a place we will keep going back to. It has newspaper on the tables and hammers for the great Blue crab they serve. People were very friendly there too. :thumbsup2

We would recommend Ozzie's as well. They have great crab legs in a very casual setting. Kid friendly as well. We will go back!
