Places to buy Alcohol near WDW.

Ham Ham, Hamettes and 2 other families are off to WDW, All Star Movies then AKL Jambo House.

The other family enjoys libations and other beverages.
Since we're not big drinkers finding the best liquor store near Disney has never been on the top of our list.

Looking for a place with a good selection & prices of wine, beer and spirits.
Any suggestions?

We usually go the Winn Dixie at 11957 S Apopka Vineland Rd which has groceries, beer and wine. In the parking lot, there is also a liquor store with a nice selection of products.

From All Stars or AKL, you would take Osceola Parkway east to World Drive. Go north on World Drive and exit to the right to E Buena Vista Drive (going to Downtown Disney). Take E Buena Vista to Hotel Plaza Boulevard. Turn right onto Hotel Plaza Boulevard. Stay on Hotel Boulevard until it ends at S Apopka Vineland Road (at the Crossroads Shopping Center). Turn left onto S Apopka Vineland Road and the Winn Dixie is a mile up the road on the right hand side.

We bought wine and beer twice in July. Goodings was $$$$. Walmart was much better. S

I agree with cpbjgc. Winn Dixie and the ABC Liquors store next door are much better value than Goodings, and they both have a very good selection. Never bought booze at Walmart before so I can't comment, but I generally try to avoid Walmart whenever I can. (Call it personal preference or snobbery. ) I figure when I'm on vacation I should try experiences I can't get at home - and Walmart definitely fails that test.

Also, if you shop at Winn Dixie, make sure you sign up for their reward program. We've saved a lot of money with that card over the years.

We do all of our groceries at the SuperWalmart at SR535. Good selection of beer, wine and coolers (beware: in the US coolers are all 'malt beverage' instead of vodka! No Woodys and the Smirnoff are malt). There is a liquor store attached that you can enter from the outside for hard liquor or a cooler with more zip (was able to get Kahlua mudslides). Compared to what we pay for alcohol here the prices were Bottles of wine and beer were much cheaper. I got a bottle of white zinfindel (same one is $9 here) for $4. LOL

Anyone else get a giggle out of the low alcohol content in the states?

I drink about 5 glasses of wine a month....if that. In the states I can kill a bottle in a night. lol S

I was just reading another thread on the same topic. Someone posted that the Hess across from DTD has a good selection of wine/beer and spirits. It also said that the prices were not too bad. This is good choice if you don't have a car.


If you have a car the one beside Winn Dixie is probably the best/closest.

We always hit the superwalmart too. We like to get a mix like pina colada or daiquiri from the grocery part and the rum (or whatever) from the attached liquor store. Feels like vacation. I know how people feel about walmart but it really is good for one stop shopping.

Good to know! I was trying to find a liquor store but there are so many unfamiliar names! Superwalmart is easiest!!

Definitely the ABC liquour store near the Crossroads! Best prices on Scotch, Tequilla, plus they have all the extra's such as lemons,limes,miniatures etc. We have priced other ABC and surrounding liquour stores and always find the best prices here! In 2008 we got an amazing price for yellow tail wines, 3 for $15 dollars! Much better than in Canada.

DH also says ABC. Plus it's next to the grocery store.

OK I need alittle help here ... there are about a dozen Superwalmarts in the area. Which one has the liquor store next to it? I need to map quest it. HELP
