I am leaving for DW in 6 days. I need to know where would be a good place to watch the playoff game on Jan 18th at 6:30 P.M? :confused3 I have to now try to cancel our dinner ressies for that evening and try to get one earlier in the afternoon or maybe do breakfast. So does anyone know a good place where we can go and watch our hometeam Pittsburgh Steelers play that evening? I was thinking the ESPN bar on the boardwalk. What transportation means would I use to get there? We will be in the MK that day. Thank you:cheer2: :dance3: :woohoo:

We plan to watch it in our room at AKL because any place else will probably be too crowded, especially ESPN Zone. :happytv: Sorry we are outside of Philly and HUGE Eagles fans. Hopefully we will play each other in the Superbowl! Good luck to your Steelers!
They are national games, so any TV would have them.
Hope this helps!

Our Father,

Who Art in Pittsburgh,

Football Be Thy Game.

The Kingdom Come,

5 Super Bowls Won,

On Earth as it is in Heinz Field.

Give us this Day a playoff Victory,

And forgive us our penalties,

As we defeat those who play against us.

But lead us into a victory,

And deliver us to Tampa!

A-Ben

Go STEELERS!

When you leave MK get on the bus for BW, BC or YC resorts to get to the Boardwalk and the ESPN Bar...getting back to your resort after the game may be a little tricky...depending on where you are staying and when the game is over...one option is you could take the boat from the BW to DS and then get on the bus for your resort there...
Good Luck and Go Steelers! :cheer2:

My husband wants to watch it, too! I've made an early dinner reso at Yak & Yeti, and then we're going to head to ESPN, I think. We should make it at least during the second quarter - we're driving ourselves in our own car.

Don't forget your LGMH you two so you'll be able to find each other in a sea of Black & Gold!

Well, first of all, thank you all for your help. I do think that they have decided to just stay at our resort and watch it there, then meet up with us at the MK. My TA called today and said that Disney contacted her and they upgraded us from the All Star Sports to the Caribbean Beach Resort. The CBR is closer to the ESPN club from what I understand. I don't know if this upgrade is better or not. I have heard many say that the value resorts are cleaner and nicer than some of the moderate and deluxe resorts. I guess we'll see in 4 more days. Thank you all.

Who knows, maybe we will play the Eagles in the Super Bowl. That would be neat. Two teams from PA. I live 20 miles South of Pittsburgh and I have never once went to a home game. My son has, but not me. Would love to though!!

GO STEELERS!!!!!!! :yay: :woohoo: :dance3: :dance3: :cheer2:

Way to cool! That is a great pic! We are hoping that this summer to go to the Steelers training camp so that my son can get some autographs and meet some of the players. His entire bedroom is BLACK AND GOLD! Fatheads and all. Thanks for sharing!

Thats cool that you got upgraded...never stayed @CB or AllStars but we LOVE POP (have stayed 3xs) becuase they have their own bus service!

Used to live in Bridgeville! Have gone twice, once regular season and once pre-season!

DH & I graduated from Saint Vincent College (where The Steelers hold their summer training camp!) We took our DS a couple of years ago...the only autograph he got was of Tunch Ilkin (played offensive tackle for the Steelers from 1980-1992, now a commentator for the Steelers) but we still had a blast! :cloud9:
Just painted DS (10 yo) bedroom black & gold...ordered some Steelers Fatheads but had to return them because they wouldn't adhere to textured walls :sad2:
Our game room is a shrine to Pittsburgh teams...we have Jerome Bettis, Mario Lemieux and Roberto Clemente jerseys framed hanging on the walls! :worship:

Bridgeville isn't far from where I live. My parents actually own property there with a coal mine on it. They are going to start strip mining it, then deep mining in the next year or so. Ever heard of the little town of Cutty (sp?)?

I have been packing today. I have never packed for three people for a week. Geesh!!

::yes::

Are you a family of three? Are you flying? Is this your first trip to Disney? We (DH, DS & I) took a cruise to Alaska this summer and I was surprised we were able to pack for 7+ days using 3 big suitcases and a carryon each....
Have a wonderful time! :goodvibes

Yes, we are a family of three. My brothers family is going also, which is a family of three. Not one of the 6 of us has flown, ever. Soooo, its going to be a little interesting. I was trying not to worry about it to much, but then my lovely sister-in-law stopped by the other day and she didn't know that we were going to Disney. When I told her she said, "Oh, no, I have been dreaming of a plane crashing." Great. Thats all it took for the fright and fear to set in. I guess this will be an experience, to say the least.:scared1:

Don't worry :worried:
It will be fine :goodvibes
Don't forget to let us know all about your experience when you get back!

Members of the Steeler Nation know all too well the story of the Terrible Towel.
It was a brainchild of beloved and dearly departed Myron Cope during the Noll
Dynasty. The magic of the towel lasted beyond the retirement of Chuck Noll,
maintained its staying power throughout the entire Cowher age, and is still
going strong in the early years of the Tomlin era. The towels are manufactured
in Wisconsin by Chippewa River Industries. Proceeds from the sale of the towels
benefit Chippewa, which employs the mentally disabled, and helps to pay for
their care. Myron Cope also collected royalties and donated all of them to the
Allegheny Valley School , a special needs place where his autistic son is a
resident. Before he died, Cope bequeathed the Towel rights to the school,
ensuring proper care for his son and for many others.

What you may not know is that greed has found its way in to this benevolent
endeavor. The NFL is quietly working on a promotion to produce larger towels
for every other team in the league besides the Steelers. They plan to unveil
this gimmick after the conference championships this week and push it through
the super bowl. The plan is to market these towels and capture the enthusiasm
of the super bowl contestants. To get things moving, free towels were handed
out at every stadium during the divisional playoffs this week. You may have
seen the Tennessee fans waving those powder blue things. Of course, they would
not have brought their own.
Did anyone notice the complete backfire? All the home teams lost EXCEPT the
Steelers!

This is why the Steelers need to win the Superbowl. The sanctity of the
Terrible Towel must be preserved!
Also of note:

After the 2005 season members of the Cincinnati Bengals, AFC North division
champs, stomped all over the Terrible Towel before their playoff game with the
wild card Steelers. The Bengals still have not recovered from their loss that
day. The Steelers went on to win their Fifth Super Bowl.

On Dec. 21, 2008 members of the Titans stomped on the towel. Three weeks later,
the Titans took an early dismissal from the playoffs. Early on in that game with
the Ravens, many fans were waving their freebie blue towels marked TITANS!
Later, as the rain began to fall, and it got colder, they put the towels on
their necks to stay warm. Appropriately, as the game went on, their necks began
to TIGHTEN! And their team choked.

If the Steelers win the Superbowl this year, they will have to win two games
against teams named after birds. Then the opposing fans can use their new
towels to clean up all the bird S&%#. Also, a Steeler Super Bowl victory
will make the sacrilegious theft of the spirit of the Terrible Towel the worst
marketing idea since the NFL network!

GO STILLERS !
