Place to stay between NC & SC

DH and I are driving to Orlando this Christmas and I want to get a reservation for a room on the way back. I was thinking between NC & SC would be a good place, kind of 1/2 way home. Any suggestions??

we usually do not make ressies for travel on I95 . . . we use the coupon books from the rest areas and just take our chances. How far we get depends on when we leave WDW . . . from south to north or preferred areas are
Florence SC
Lumberton NC
Fayetteville NC

All that said, Christmas time is probably busier at the motels, so you may want to make ressies.

Normally I don't make reservations for stopping either, but I figured New Year's day would probably be pretty hard to just find a place to crash.

Be sure and check out the sticky at the top of this forum "for those driving".. The DIS has a great resource listing each exit and the available hotels, restaurants, gas stations, etc. on I-95, It came in very handy when we drove.
