Each year DH buys a Disney sweatshirt as a souvenir, each time getting the absolute largest size he can XXL or XXXL. Problem is he's not "big", he's just really tall, and the arms on even the XXL are too short for him. But he's never found large-tall (LT) sweatshirts.

So this year I thought we'd buy some plain LT sweatshirts at home and bring them down to Orlando and have a shop do an iron-on. Are Disney iron-ons an option anywhere on property? Or perhaps at one of those cheap t-shirt shops off property?

Thanks for any answers and advice you can give.

You can have someone on the DisSigns boards here create an image for you. You would print it out and then iron it on yourself. I don't know of any stores that iron on Disney images. I think that would be against copy right laws. You can make them yourself, but can't sell them.

There's a Hanes store at DTD that has make-your-own tees. You might try calling them to see if they have tall sizes or if you could bring your own.

Is this new? So cool. Do you know the prices for t-shirts?

No clue, sorry. I just saw the store at DTD, but didn't go in. If you ask over on the Theme Parks board, I'm sure someone there will have been there and can answer your questions about pricing and sizes.

They also sell iron ons at the hat stores, for placing on the mickey ears. But I wouldn't find them any different than those used on t-shirts that are at the store. Just remember, their only a few inches tall, but could work for the sleeves or something.

If you do go with an iron on transfer, there's a really good product out there called Wonder Under. It's a transparent glue for iron ons. I bought a pack of transfer sheets at the store, but they lost their adhesive. So I talked to a guy at JoAnns fabric and he told me to iron that on under the printed transfers. It worked like a charm, and also helps the transfer stay on longer and better on the fabrics after washing.

One things I learned, transfers for white shirts are almost clear, but not quite. Transfers for dark colored are pure white, so there is a white background once you transfer. I was doing text, and wanted the t-shirt to show through, so I used the ones for white shirts. It made it a little frosty, but worked out well.

OP here - thanks for the tips. Anyone else have experience with the T-shirt shops around Orlando?
