Is there a place to buy a small, light fold-up (umbrella) stroller in DL or Downtown DL or on Disney property somewhere? We don't want to take one with us on the plane, but just buy something cheap at the parks to use with our 5-year-old when needed.

Anyone have any ideas?

Not sure about at DLR, but the Target on Harbor (about 1 mile south of the parks) would have something for sure. ART stops at the hotels across from Target, if you don't want to take a cab.

Unless you have a super small 5 year old, I wouldn't want to be pushing a kid that big in a cheap umbrella stroller, those little $20 strollers are a bear to push once the kid hits about 30 pounds. Are you staying on property? There is a target or a wal-mart close by that would have a better selection of strollers that would be easier to push with a 5 year old.

The first years Jet or ignite get good reviews and are available on walmart.com you may be able to have one shipped to your hotel.

Depending on how long your trip is, you could consider just renting one in the park.

I don't know if there is anywhere on site that sells them. Maybe someone else has the answer.:confused3

Here's a link to strollers at walmart

Not sure how big your 5yo is, but those umbrella strollers would drive you nutso if you are 5'7" or taller and your kid is heavier. I can't imagine they are very comfortable for anyone to push but the handles are so low, it is just ridiculous if you are on the tall side.

DD is 46 lbs and you will definitely want air tires. I bought my strollers on craigslist, you can resell them if you want when you are done for as much as you paid for them! You could also rent strollers either on or off site.

Thanks for the tip. Maybe we'll just have something from Wal-Mart shipped, or we'll try a day without the stroller and see what happens.

I agree with the others. I'm not a huge fan of the DL rental (no canopy, no recline, just not that nice) but I would go with that over a really cheap umbrella. They at least have decent sized tires and higher handles. She'd have to walk to/from the esplanade, but with a 5yo that wouldn't be that bad.

When at WDW I rent a stroller from Magic Strollers. I googled Anaheim stroller rentals and found several similar businesses. Maybe someone can recommend one of them.

They do sell umbrella strollers at DL, where you rent strollers. I saw this a few months back and commented on it to the cast memebr working there. I though it was nice they had them for sale in case you wanted a smaller lightweight stroller. I don't know how much they are but they look ok. They are red and have a canopy.
