Has anyone had success with one stateroom booked as a place holder with their TA and a second stateroom booked through Costco. Will we be able to link the rooms for booking excursions if everything is paid in full by our date? Will we be able to eat together?
Thanks!

So you had one placeholder which you've since converted to an actual booking? And also booked a second room at the same time?

You can link both reservations, ensuring that both parties will be seated together for dinner. And, once the excursion booking window opens, you can book for both rooms (as long as both room are at least the same Castaway Club level).

We are the same level. Have not booked either yet because I wanted this answered. I can get a cash card for Costco if I book through them for the second room. We have a placeholder booked for the first room.

You can use Costco to change the placeholder to an actual reservation, also. If the placeholder was done within the past 30 days.

I transferred four placeholder reservations to Costco after we returned (do it as soon as you can, it takes a week sometimes and you only have 30 days). The Costco agent said she linked them all with Disney to make it easier when we actually select a cruise. I will confirm again at that time that they are linked. I think you can call DCL for everything except the actual booking, room assignment, and payment. Payment is two weeks before DCL paid in full date.

This has made me think - we just got off the Wonder in August. Previously we booked our next cruise while on the ship. This time we put a deposit for two placeholders. We are looking at a cruise for summer 2021 - which the dates come out in the spring.

When do we move things to Costco? Now with just the placeholders or once we actually book a cruise?

Thank you!

NOW. It must be assigned to a TA (if the TA wasn't used to book the cruise you were on when making the placeholders) within 30 days of booking the placeholder.

I just doubled checked my confirmation email for the placeholder and it says “booked by Costco”. Costco was our TA for our August cruise. So - that should mean that we are okay?

Our placeholder is through our travel agent. The other cabin doesn’t have a placeholder so Costco is the best bet for them.

My preference would be to book the 2nd stateroom through the same TA. But it's not required. I'm assuming the 2nd stateroom is a different family and they wish to book through Costco. You'll just need to share your reservation numbers with each other for linking.

When using different TAs, be aware of any differences such as PIF date -- I believe Costco requires (requests?) PIF about 2 weeks earlier than DCL's official PIF date.

Enjoy your cruise!
