Place for family of 22 to get together

I will be at Disneyland at the end of July and will be meeting up with extended family for a day or two. My family of 10 will be staying at Grand Californian but my extended family will just be staying in the area. I am thinking we need a place where we can all mingle and get to know each other and chat at once, have a snack or sodas or drinks, even if only for a couple of hours. Does anyone have any ideas? We will not be going into the parks our first day. I thought we would just hang out at the hotel and DTD.

Heartstone Lounge, located off the GCH lobby, might be a good place.

A party of 22 is a large group, so wherever the OP decides to go, it would be helpful to call the restaurant or lounge ahead of time to make sure that a party of that size can be accommodated. Perhaps an area of tables could be set aside for the OP's group.

Our largest group meet-up so far has been for 15 (all adults). The Jazz Kitchen works well (we did drinks and desserts) and Tangaroa Terrace (we were there during off peak hours so the tables were available and weren't needed for other parties). The patio at Starbucks in DtD might work, if the tables are available.

For the OP, would it be possible to reserve a private room at one of the restaurants in DtD? That way your group could mingle and chat without any interruptions.

The fireplace patio at the DLH would seat you all, and you're next to Trader Sam's for drinks; the cocktail server will come out if there are people who need her (and tipping her! ) It's gorgeous and relaxing. It is a smoking area though if that would bother a lot of you.
When you're in the parks, the Jungle Cruise is a great ride to get a photo of your group on - we rode with 25 once and it was so fun!
