Our flight leaves ohio at 6:40 at night we will prob. get in to sanford by 9:20 and by the time we get our rental and drive to titusville (where we are saying a day and 1/2 before disney) it will be 10:30 or 11pm by the time we get the kids in bed and if i only had to change the babes diaper and throw him in bed it would make it so much easier. What do you think? I can't help but think of the germy plane...but then again it would be so so so much easier in the long run to deal with the overly tired kiddos in their pjs

Thanks for the input in advance :D

As long as the kids don't care, why not?

Footie pajamas are fine, although I wouldn't let them walk through an airport without shoes over them.

Kids under age 12 no longer have to take shoes off through security.

I see no issues with it. If you didn't want to do actual jammies, what about sweats or leggings and t-shirts. I say do whatever is easiest for you.

I remember the days when everyone dressed up when flying. Those days are gone.

We were waiting for the DME bus to leave Saratoga Springs in October when a family with extended members arrived to the resort, obviously just off a delayed flight because it was after noon. Anyway, all the kids were wearing PJs.

I think this depends on the airport :confused3: They still have to take them off at ours (Denver), or at least they did in December...

They shouldn't have.

New Screening Procedures for Passengers 12 and Under: TSA has implemented new procedures that reduce, though not eliminate, pat-downs of passengers 12 and under that would otherwise have been conducted to resolve alarms while also ensuring effective security measures. Passengers 12 and under are also able to leave their shoes on through security checkpoints.

(unless, of course, the child needs to have extra checking done, randomly or if they bump the metal detector, etc)

We went to Orlando in September and DS didn't have to take them off, then traveled elsewhere in October and the TSA guy said that NO airports are making kids take them off.

So Denver has gone rogue, apparently....

I put my kids in their PJs for night flights all the time. Anything to make it a little easier when we arrive. Also helps them to sleep on the plane if that's the goal too.

That's what we're doing. My husband and I are taking my 3 y/o GS to WDW in Feb. We'll be leaving our house at 3:00 in the morning. I've already told my D-I-L to send him a pair of sweats, socks, and an extra t shirt to wear to sleep in that night, along with a pair of shoes that are easy to slip on and we'll just get him up in the morning, try to get him to use the rest room, and take him asleep to the airport. We'll change him once we get to MCO, if it's warm.

Last time we went to Disney an entire family (parents etc) were in pjs. The flight attendants looked at each other and went "really".

I second the sweat pants/leggings option. We did that for DD and she was comfy and even slept a bit.

we do PJs or comfy clothes that can double as PJs (sweats, leggins etc) all the time! I dont even worry about the germs - they're not really my thing...i would DEFINITELY do it...

I usually dont put them in feety pjs, because I dont like the bathroom situation as they will likely hit the floor when you go...

Have a good trip!

:rotfl2: I have to say, the response the flight attendants gave, would have been my response too. :rotfl2:

I get the comfy and convenient thing....do whatever works for you. I personally would go for loose clothing (Tshirt and leggins or sweatpants). Anything loose and comfy should do. But if PJs are your choice, then PJs it is. I can't help but find it funny. :lmao:

I once saw a whole family (mom, dad & 3 girls) in PJ's waiting for a 6 PM flight to Albany, NY.

One thing to consider is that the plane is likely to get cold - you don't want the PJs to be too thin.

I always wear comfy clothes on the plane (although not pjs)! Flying is so stressful, I might as well be comfortable.

thanks so much! I am glad that idea wasn't off in left field!

I won't be wearing my PJ's and DS 18 months is the only one that i would put in footies...DD would have to be in shoes for pottie breaks and such

I am getting SOOOO excited!
