I've not posted much lately as some of you may have read on the UK board that my grandfather passed away at the beginning of the month so I need to catch up on all your PJs.

Not got much to update, still waiting to book, yesterday was the 2 week mark so I'm nearly there! I read on the main wedding page about Escape brides having private catered lunchs so i'm going to luck into that.

The main update is that last night I sat down and updated our wedding budget and then went into shock. I knew we had gone over budget a bit, but when the total came to 50% more than the initial one it was a bit of shock. The cruise and cindy's coach made up half of the extra spend, then add on the videographer, the bad exchange rate, the extra cost of the WP over SP and other bits and bobs and you get the full amount. It would have been even worse but i'd already decided to drop the MK photo shoot in favour of the Wishes DP. We oursleves will only have to stump up a little bit extra as when we budgeted I made sure we could pay for everything ourselves in case my parents didn't offer to pay for anything but now they are just paying for the overspend rather than saving us money which is what we'd hoped would happen. I think DF was a bit gobsmacked but he insists I can keep cindy's coach even though I said several times I could live without it. So i'm now praying very hard for the exchange rate to get better to save us some more money especially as we haven't budgeted spending money!

I'm sorry about your grandfather, I hadn't heard

I have been sent some menus and photos by my planner for a small room at the GF (Key West room), so drop me a reminder email and I'll send you the info sometime over the weekend if you like. In all honesty, this is more expensive than if we can get our first choice, Citrico's, but it's another option in case it's unavailable.

The exchange rate looks like it might be getting better, all but sloooooowly....

I have had the same problem with the budget!! I am keeping my fingers crossed the exchange rate goes up to make both our weddings cheaper!!

I just put our budget together yesterday and found that we are over by 14%. I know it doesnt' sound like much but for a big wedding its a chunk of change.

You def can't do without the carriage - I mean its something special worth going all the way to floriday for.

My suggestion is to keep checking the cruise website because if you can catch a lower fare they will automatically reduce your fare to match with a phone call. I have heard rumors of the cruise reservations are down so I am expecting the price to drop.

If this is still your plan, perhaps you could cut some of the time of the lunch/tea? There's only one hour between the tea, and then there's the reception, and then a DP. That's going to be a lot of food!! Remember you may want some private alone with your hubby as well. I don't think it's necessary to have every moment planned from the ceremony to the DP. We're planning on a morning ceremony, brunch/lunch reception, then a DP so all afternoon/evening is unplanned.

When cutting costs, remember that people mostly often remember experiences over things. If the experience of riding in the carriage is worth it, then go for it, and cut things like floral and the like. Good luck!!

And PS I LOVE your tiara!!!

Sadly my lovely Disney WC Brianna is moving jobs so I've now got Diane for the actually booking process. I'm sure she'll be lovely as well.

My Mum has kindly donated a bit more money to the wedding fund so the budget is looking a little better.

Our BM & BM are starting to look at booking so I'm trying to help them get a good deal.

Just a couple more days now till I can book the WP and the Coach plus our Comp night at the GF which i'm hoping to keep as a surprise for DF.

Diane has said there is no need for me to ring on Thursday/8 month mark as she has all my details and that she'll e-mail me Friday to confirm, I'm taking this as a good sign that they aren't expecting anyone else to call on Thursday wanting my location and time.

This weekend I shall atempt to make our invitations, i'm not artistic or crafty so we'll see how they turn out.
