I think we're going to have to conduct our own contest here...
It's obvious people tend to like what they have grown up on. For me, just about any pizza from outside the NYC area just isn't the same. I'm told the water has a lot to do with it.
The closest I've come to finding another pizza that I really liked was many years ago in Tijuana, Mexico, of all places. Lots of cheese and not too spicy.
The absolute worst was while visiting my son in Katrineholm, Sweden! Talk about thin crust... you could read the paper through it and no "normal" toppings.
I think that no matter where you're from, if you're a pizza "purist," you like it either plain cheese, or with sausage or pepperoni. When you start adding fruit and veggies and all that "gourmet" stuff, you have committed a grave sin and should be banished to Sweden.
Oh, yes... there should be just a trickle of oil running down your hand, too!
