Pizza at WDW . . .

We have a LARGE group going to AKL in just a couple of weeks. We wanted to order pizza for supper the first night - we thought it would be a little cheaper and we wanted to stay at the resort for a little birthday party for my nephew's 1st birthday.

Anyway, I noticed there was pizza on the menu at AKL. How's the pizza at Disney World compared to Domino's or Pizza Hut? We may just go pick up pizza if we need to, especially if we can get a few Buy One/Get One coupons for the area.

IMHO there is no good pizza at WDW, except for the flatbreads which are not at all like a traditional pizza.

You can order Domino's or Pizza Hut and have them deliver to the lobby, they are not allowed to bring it to your room.

I think there is a wide range of pizza styles within the Disney property. We ate the pizza at ASMo this last trip and thought it was bad, didn't like the hard crust or the toppings. And yet we have eaten it at Mara at the AKL several times and enjoyed it everytime. Crust was so much better. Don't know why the difference ???????? (oh the pizza in Disney Quest - I believe cooked by Cheesecake Factory - has always been very good)

I would think by time you picked it up and got back to hotel is would be cold. Don't know if it would be worth the savings to me.......

My advice would be to pick up the yellow pages, find Giordano's and call them for delivery........MMMmmmmm..........Chicago Style, but oh so good......and I am from the Pizza capital of the world......the Jersey Shore.....


And they delivered right to our room at the Beach Club........

Interesting responces...we've decided to add "pizza" as an option this year for the first time, we were thinking about Spoodles?

We brought two pizzas from the Spoodles take out window and brought them back to our hotel. We thought they were pretty good.

We stayed at AKL and got the large pizza at Mara at least once. It was good, but just normal delivery style pizza you'd get anywhere, nothing out of the ordinary. If you're looking for something a little more exciting Mara has a chicken tandoori pizza (personal size, but it might come in larger) that's just FANTASTIC! So anyway, back to the regular pizzas, as long as you're used to delivery style pizza this will be no different. You can even order it Mara's and sit outside at the tables overlooking the pool and have a little gathering.
