I know the drill at DW for doing Pixie Hollow.

What are your recommendations for doing it at the Land with the least possible wait?

We will only be there 2 days and have the boys in the family along, so we will have to pass unless we can find a way to do it with a reasonable wait...

We've lined up 5 minutes before Pixie Hollow opens a couple of times and been the 3rd or 4th family in line both times. I can't remember whether those were weekend or weekday visits though.

Thanks! Does Pixie Hollow have a standard opening time, or do I just have to check the schedule?

Good question. I would like to know also.

I believe Pixie Hollow opens after the park does.....like an hour later or so. But I'm sure someone else will know for sure.

When we went in Sept the park opened on a "late" hour and Pixie Hollow opened the same time as the park (9 am I think??). But I have heard that on earlier opening times Pixie Hollow opens one hour after park opening. This seems to be an often discussed and misunderstood question.

Also, we had my mom wait in line and then when she got close she called us and we ran over with our daughters. The very helpful and nice CMs watched for us and led us in through the exit where we joined up with my mom.

This approach has been a somewhat heated subject many time on this board. There are many that do not believe this is fair to others, while others find it acceptable.

It is NOT against Disney's rules, just a point of contention around here etiquette-wise.

I had no idea it was a frowned on subject. It doesn't actually cost anyone behind that person time or space so what is the "point of contention". I am big on etiquette and would not want to do something that makes others mad. Can someone explain why people have a problem with it? Thanks!

Well, it does cost the people behind you something - time.
One person gets says hello to the pixies, takes pictures, get autographs and moves along much quicker than a party of 4. That said, it does happen all the time and everyone has their own opinion on whether they think it is rude or not.

We went last month on a Saturday and lined up at 9 am to meet them. The park opened for EE at 7 am that day and 8 am regular time. PH opened at 9 am. There were about 10 groups ahead of us. We waited about 15-20 minutes. It was a lot of fun and Terrance (the boy) was there. I would suggest doing it early on unless you want to wait a long time.

Have a great trip.:)

I hope you'll post back here and let me know what time it was, how busy it was, and how it went! :thumbsup2

Good luck!

I've pondered this with the princesses and decided I was okay with it. They let people in as a group so if your group has 1 person or 4 it doesn't matter. I would assume that the idea is that one person would take less of the character's time than a larger group. IME it doesn't seem to matter what your groups is like because I haven't noticed much of a pattern to the wait vs face time. The time we stood in line at PFF the longest we had the longest time with the princesses. When we zipped through the PH line, we also zipped through the meeting with Irridessa thought Tink spent more time with us.

As for when to get a short wait in PH, be in Fantasyland during the Celebration parade. They close the Alice bathrooms as a staging are for the next stop in the parade so when the parade passes just walk towards PH. You'll come to the ropes and just hang out. Its a short wait. When they drop the rope you head straight to PH. We were 2nd or 3rd in line when it opened again.

Thanks for the tip!!

Anyone have any suggestions for Princess Fantasy Faire? I recall from our trip in 07 that it drove me nuts.... It also opens about an hour after park opening, doesn't it? It just KILLS me to think of giving up that golden first hour of the day waiting in that line....

And no...we don't have anyone who can wait in line for us..... Doubt I'll talk our teenage boys into it!

Not sure what your budget or party size is but what we did last year was splurge for a meal at Ariel's Grotto. We met 4 princesses at the restaurant and got to skip that whole PFF wait. I did hear that they were bringing back the storytelling and show there so you might want to stop into the PFF but you could avoid the long meet & greet line.

Skip it! Take your DD to Ariel's grotto instead. You will spend a bit of money, but save your sanity! The one and only time we did this we were 10-12th in line. However due to the fact that the majority of the groups had one person wait in line while several more joined in later it took over 90 minutes of waiting. In other words we went from being 10-12th in line to being 40-50th. It was the absolute WORST expereince I have ever had at Disneyland. I'm sorry but when you are in line that long and have 3-4 people constantly jumping in front of you makes the wait a thousand times worse. Plus try explaining to a 4 year old why she had to wait in the line but the others didn't.

I have to agree with PP's that have said that getting someone else to wait and then just jumping in when it is their turn at the front is extremely rude.

Whether or not it is "costing" those behind anything is kind of irrelevant I think. The thing is that there are children that have been waiting patiently in line for their turn, possibly for a long time. Then as they are getting closer to their turn a group of people just jumps in front and goes straight in. So really, I just think it is not fair to the other kids that have been waiting so patiently. :confused3

ETA : completely agree with Amy!!!!

We did miss the storytelling and show last time, so I'd love to do that.. Any word on when it's coming back?

Now that I have had some "input/(hostility)" with the whole line holding thing I will start to wait with my mom so we take up "2" spots which counts for my 2 little girls. That way we will take up the proper "time" allotment for our family group. :)

When we were there last week, the info sheet said that PH opened each day at 9 am, regardless of MM or regular park opening.
